Oh yes Glam sorry to hear about the insulin. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. What did your hubby say about it?

Well i still can't get hold of my MW it is really poor. Do you lot have your mw's numbers? I am sure when i had ds she had a mobile but it seems to have changed. What if i really needed to speak to her about something important? I guess i would just have to either ring docs or go to A&E if i was worried.

I am hopeless on the phone, sorting things out, complaining etc i am too polite but get me i just rang the head office of a cafe we ate at well over a week ago and do you remember i said nails were sticking out and they made a big hole in my top. Well i rang to ask why no one had phoned me like they said they would the woman knew all about it but for some reason still said she needed to speak to the staff member who i had complained to and she will ring me back. We will see but i am glad i rang them anyway. I bet they thought i would just foprget about it. I only want a sorry it's not too much to ask for is it?

Thanks Glam, Workinmummy, MustbeMad, SuzyWuzy. Thought I could stop having to worry about all that sort of thing at the mo, until I was closer to my due date. How naive am I. Yes MBM it is my first so it gets worse the more you have! Something to look forward to then :)

On a brighter note - has anyone checked out the Toys R Us/Babies R Us sale there are quite a lot of things reduced. Not sure what they are like in comparison to other places but might be worth a look.

Thanks for the info on a section nikki, I had an EMCS with ds and was put under GA as i had 3 failed epidurals so i haven't a clue what went on and hubby wasn't allowed in. Lucky for me i had already prepared my foof :rotfl:just incase, i must have known:rotfl:If i have another section i will def prepare myself again i am not having them do it. Was your hubby's allowed in when you had your epidrual? I have seen lots of real births on tv and the man is always made to gown up in a different room while the woman has it done. I will need him there as i had 3 failed ones i will be a bit scared of this. They hit my spine and i felt the neddle go click click click against the bone. It was very painful. Were you given gas and air while they did it? and did they give you a local in the back first? Hubby said they didn't give me one. Sorry so many questions lol

    Not a lot

He's coming to next appt with me (only cos I'm having a scan!) - he finds it strange I have to do the Insulin esp. after MIL said I needed a weeks training on Insulin not 10 mins! No idea how she would even know this - but technology has improved so much these days it's dead easy to do.

It's just getting him to stop offering me all the nice things that I can't have! Dietician rang me earlier - said my diet is fine and the only thing I need to do is eat fruit straight after a meal instead of as a snack.
Just had two granary rolls with chicken, crisps, banana and an orange so will be interesting to see what levels are in a bit

This is a bit embarrassing but does anyone else in the 23 week mark have random leakages in the nether regions? I was at work the other day talking to someone when all of a sudden it felt like I was having a period or something. As soon as I could I went to check and it was clear but it was lucky I was wearing a black skirt! A similar thing happened on Saturday when I was in the city, and that actually made me look like I had wet myself :o- luckily I was wearing a cardy tied round my waist which covered it (hopefully no one noticed). I'm thinking of getting some pads or something to wear, but its going to cost a fair amount between now and 1 November! Does anyone have any advice? Or recommendations.

    Thanks

I use the sainsbury's ultra thin ones. Can't stand them if they are too padded. I started out cutting them in half to save money but after a few accidents (I never know which is going to be a big amount day) I now just use them whole.

Hello everyone. Can I join in?

We have just found out I am pregnant. It comes as a bit of a shock as two weeks ago I was told I had a MC and didn't even know I was pregnant. I've been getting more and more morning sickness since then (this week is really bad!)

So we had an emergency scan on Monday to check I didn't need a D&C or to check it wasn't an ectopic pregnancy but they confirmed I was still pregnant and so far everything looks ok. We even saw the heartbeat! What an amazing moment. What a shock and surprise!

The sonographer estimates I am 5-6 weeks as 'bean' is 5mm long but has a heartbeat. But the nurses calculations from last period puts me at 7-8 weeks. So I am not sure. Like anyone I am scared until we get to the 12 & 20 week marks and dont want to get too excited. But morning sickness has kicked in badly this week so I take that as a good sign.

Looking forward to lots of advice and stories from everyone! Congrats everyone! I havent been able to read the whole thread but hope to get up to speed as I go along.

Advice on where to start what to do very welcome as this is still a complete (wonderful) shock.

That's not an easy gesture to make! I would be worried about that baby.
