My ds is going to school in sept  i am going to cry buckets it is also the same week my twins were meant to be due so i am going to be a wreak anyway.

He is very small but then i am only 4 11'' so he must take after me. I am having trouble with his uniform. I have ordered the smallest and it is still far to big. I took one item back to the school for a refund as it will fit him when he is 10 :rotfl:I bought him troussers from asda with the adjustable waist but the smallest size they do is 3/4 and i could have done with 2/3 really. Mil is going to alter them all for me as the leg length is far to long. The jumper sleeves will have to be rolled up too. He will look at right sight on his first day bless him :rotfl:He is in size 7 shoes and most of his friends are in 10's at least he gets the wear out of his clothes and i am not having to keep buying stuff.

when I was having appointment before and after my boob ops - nurses used to laugh at me because I said Oh don't bother with a gown and I'd jump on the edge of the bed and sit there with me baps out!

Why waste a gown for the sake of covering my boobs for 2 mins while doctor 'washes his hands'

Right I'm off now, need to grab a bite to eat on way to hospital and find a car park space near the maternity unit

Where does the time go?

My little one is due at the end of August too (not that thats when he's coming) and the whole way through the pregnancy i'd been hoping for him to be a few days late so i could get him in the next school year, I'm an August baby and i hated it, always the last in the year to do anything, turn,18,learn to drive, etc. and noone was ever around for my birthday parties.....it isn't even like the weather is always good because it's rained on my brithday for the last 8 years!

but then i never had a problem at school academically, I was quite bright though so was always around the top of my class even though i was young, but i was really worried about how my little boy would cope...
Apprently depending on how close to the cut-off the child is you can hold them back to the following year if that helps?

Mustbemad - I feel for you my 6 yr old little girl was born 29th aug. She already has learning difficulties and now she is going in Junior school after the hols:eek: She can't even recite the days of the week properly yet and her speech is not well developed (she says " I gotted..." and "I sawded.."). She's hopefully going to get some more help by then but I'm terrified she will get bullied.

I used to think the birthday party thing was a blessing as I didn't have to organise anything big but now I feel a bit sorry for her. If they're in school on their birthday or its over the weekend the class make a big fuss, sing happy birthday and they get a balloon. Mine must wonder why this never happens for her!

aparantly it takes August babies 16 years to catch up with September babies... theres a years difference in maturity when they start school and it takes forever for them to catch up...! i was oldest in school year and glad for it...

plus - its a nightmare for August babies to have proper birthday parties when get to school age cos everyone is on holiday....

I don't think that's true at all! Not trying to boast, but I was an August baby and always one of the smartest people in my class. Even later years, I even took classes a year ahead of the normal and finished number 3 of my high school class. I think there's FAR more factors involved than sheer age - I learned to read and write from a very early age and my family were actively involved in starting my education even before formal schooling and I was always encouraged to learn more growing up. I think it's stuff like that that's far more important to a children's mental development than the number of months they are when starting school .

However, the b-day parties thing is a problem with any summer birthday. I rarely had parties (also b/c I lived very rural), but you know? I'm still a functioning adult :p

THere's never a good time to have a baby is there?! OH and I are January babies and we hate it cos no-one ever has any money, we end up not having a celebration, plus it is pretty much ALWAYS cold and raining.

We decided we wanted a summer baby, and of the first hadn;t miscarried we'd have had it in May, but as it is we get a July/August baby and I don't think it will matter a jot.

If we feel he/she is behind a bit then I will homeschool for a year before they go and as Hypno says I think you can hold them back a few terms anyway.

Well hair is all cut and I look a bit more stylish now lol, enquired at beauty salon (attached to my hairdressers) if they do pedicures. Am very piccy about my feet and thought I'd like to treat my self to one when I have a huge bump and can no longer see my pinkies. Maybe I'll ask the OH for it as an Xmas pressie hehe.

I don't have a clingy cat, but have certainly been getting more attention from the dog for the last few weeks. He loves a cuddle and lols against me all the time, which he doesnt normally do. He strted about a week before I got my BFP so we think he detected something changing.

Oh and I'm not fussed about nudity too, specially not around health proffesionals.

So wondering wot to do with myself for the rest of the afternoon, considering looking up aquenatal classes in our area. I know its early but I wanna be informed.
