Gah! I went through all the pages using the multiquote thing and it doesn;t work when you changes pages! No use on this thread then and now I'm bound to forget people I wanted to reply to.

So - welcome to the newbies, I can remember one is Andrea but can;t remember the other one sorry.

good luck to Tara and hope to hear happy news soon! Also hugs about your cat.

Massive hugs to Hypno - I have emailed you hon. :A

Nicki - that is awful! I am cross that my OH is going on an overnight meeting to Brum next week when I wam 38/39 weeks and that is only two hours away but INDIA!! I'd be fuming if I were you. WHat on earth will you do it if comes early? Can you get OH to talk ot his boss, or you talk to him, and explain that it's just not on? Mind you, my OH won;t do that about this meeting and I just have to hope the baby doesn;t come!

Fitz - bump size seems to be such a hot topic! Mine was 'too small' but actually the baby is fine, so try not to worry. Lots of things affect the size including how baby is lying, and ultimatley I think you know inside if things are OK or not.

Mountainlioness - you were saying about your NCT class I think? We were also the weird ones in our class cos I want a HB and knew all the answers cos I'd actually read some books, but by the end two other couples wanted to have a Hb too, and I discovered that while I thought they thought I was weird, they actually thought I was really knowledgable! So don;t worry too much - I'm sure in a few weeks you'll be mates and some of them will be choosing the 'weird' stuff too.

I know there was loads more I was going to reply to but I can't remember it.

I'm at home today, making my sofa cover. I started yesterday and so far have cut out pieces of old sheet to make my pattern pieces but I now need to sew them together and make sure it fits OK and will come on and off, before I cut the real fabric and get making! No idea what I'm doing really, but I think it will be OK. :rotfl:

Ooh - someone was saying about clingy cats. My cat is super-clingy right now and seems permanently attached to me in the day (although not at night). I wondered if it meant labour was imminent? does anyone know? I don;t have any other signs althoug I had such a bad BRaxton Hick the other day I had to get on all fours and do my breathing through it - I really thought labour was starting but obviously not as have had nothign since.

What's the betting it starts while OH is on this overnighter??

My hubbie's bombshell news is that he is off on a business trip to India for a week on the first week of the school holidays when I will be 30 weeks pregnant, and we have no family living less than a 4 hour drive away. My DD has special needs and none of my friends would feel confident in looking after her overnight if I did for any reason need to go into hospital during this period.

Well, perhaps it would make you feel better that my DH is off to New York on Saturday for 4 nights when I am 37+6 (to 38 + 3) and my parents are a 3 hour drive away (his parents live abroad). I do have a cousin who could drive me to the hospital in the middle of the night if needed though! These things are sent to challenge us....!

I had a midwife appointment yesterday (36wks) where the midwife said "oh your bump is big, this is going to be a big baby" then turned around a minute later and said "bump size doesn't really indicate how big the baby is as there can be different levels of fluid and such". This was not my regular midwife - she spent the entire appointment contradicting her own statements. I'll just wait and see what the antenatal consultant says next week, when they give me my induction date. She's much more reliable for consistent info.

God - camping?!?!! at 36 wks?? No way! I can't even get comfortable on the sofa or our bed - no WAY would I be sleeping on the ground! And what if you go into labour out in the middle of nowhere (with my luck it would be where there was no mobile signal either LOL)!?

FIL and MIL told OH he should have applied for a job which meant he would be abroad for 3 months from September  and would have to travel abroad frequently! They didn't think it was a problem. OH was like 'No way!'

Skinty - I couldn't remember if it was you or shellsuit that lived close to HypnoNu.
It was SugarSpun that said about the clingy cat - I don't have any pets so will probably end up with a clingy OH instead :rotfl:

I really hope my consultant is nice this afternoon - I've done my sample ready just in case I don't need to go when I get there!

so just got to wait til next appointment i spose... it's the morning of my first ante-natal appointment too...

he does feel really high... heartbeat was fine, sample was clear, blood pressure fine... he's moving a lot... so not unhappy in there at least!

scarey when you google GD though... higher risk of hospital birth, c section (want a natural waterbirth in MWL unit) and the constant testing... risk to baby after birth...

Gah! Just had to race upstairs anc chuck clothes then then run outside with the bins! OH had forgotten to do them. Just like he forgot the hoovering and the washing up...

I'm so out of breath now. Perhaps I should 'forget' to make dinner tonight? Hmmm.

Yay, my mothercare order just arrived I got:

    Baby bath
Top and tail bowl (I really used this alot last time but I know some people think arent neccessary)
Changing mat with towel (to stop baby's back getting cold)
    Maternity pads
Medela swing electric breast pump (nervous about getting this so early as I can't exactly try it out but I didn't want to pay full price on one)
Pregnancy/breastfeeding pillow - a little disappointing there's not much of it but it'll be ok for breastfeeding.
    Lovely blue fleece blanket
TT bottle keeper (warm or cold) 2 pack

My mum dropped the box off with no interest whatsoever...sadly I'm beginning to think she is less than enthusiastic about the imminent new arrival. When we broke the news to her she said we had spoiled her breakfast and she later went on to say I was effectively ruining my life but I was hoping she would have come around a bit by now....I mean it's not like I'm 15 or anything.

It was indeed me, skinty - the cat's currently asleep on the bed and this is the furthest away he's been from me in days. I closed the bathroom door over yesterday while I was in the tub, but he pushed it open and hung out on the side of the bath merrily shedding into the water.

Hopefully labour is imminent. I've been trying to do Kegels this morning and can't manage to hold them - I could a couple of days ago so I wonder if there's a small head blocking them?

And it had better be a reasonably small head, preferably bullet shaped and aerodynamic.
