Glam - I've been on ML since about 30 wks, but then I'm self-employed and had some health/SPD problems. So believe me, I've had my days of going totally around the bend - although DS (2yo) keeps me quite busy! (we're potty training him lol)

I found out about the GD at 18wks. I was initially told to test my sugars 6 times per day (just before and then 2 hrs after each meal), 3 days per week. I was a bit of a problem patient and told them I'd be willing to test them FOUR times per day (one fasting, and then 2hrs after each meal) as long as the sugars came back normal. They were not happy but what can they do? lol I was quite willing to go to 6 times per day if they started being over their expected levels consistently, to which they grudgingly agreed. (I'm sure I have a notation in my chart about being "uncooperative" lol) But about 30 wks they were slowly going up a bit, and I dutifully went to 6 times per day, 3 days per week, and although they leveled off, I'm still testing at this rate. They've told me that as long as my levels are okay this week (36wks), then I can stop testing for the remainder of the pregnancy. Yay!

    hiya girls.
i didnt get to stop by yesterday at all, have caught up on a couple of pages and welcome to the newbies, eviction vibes to those who need them. Hugs aswell to people who need some reassurance that everything gonna be alright!!

We bought a new car last night! Had some money saved away specifically for it as were currently driving a punto and there not a lot of bootroom for double pram, shopping, and it only being a 3door, absoloutely impossible to get baby car seat in and outta the back! So purchased a (2nd hand) Audi A4 1.8 T Sport == wow. i drove it home last night and omg, its very fast - expect me back on in a couple weeks to say i now have 3 points!!!!! :S

I was going to ask a question, but have now totally lost it!!!!

NMS= thanks for the update!! 36 weeks. woaw.

ive got sso tired recently. awake at 8am this morning, but now i want to go back to bed. DD wouldnt have any of it though!!! I am soo lathargic and tired - maybe i should start taking some iron tablets??

    Thanks Triggles

Tia was told to monitor before food 3 times every day whereas I was told 1 hour after food 3 times a day EVERY OTHER day.

My BM machine shows that I tested it 3 times yesterday after lunch because I got a 3.6 which I thought was strange so tested again and got a 8.6 and then a third time got 8.2

They might change stuff today though - think they wanted to get an idea for a week and see where I fall. God, 6 times a day  I already feel like a pin cushion!

    Carla - nice car!!!

hi ladies... just got back from midwife and bump is too big (everyone been saying how small it is?!?)

she said not to worry til next appointment, he might just have had a growth spurt, but did ask if there was a history of GD in the family (no) and my sample was clear...

she kept commenting on high bump is - hence constant heartburn... he's head down though, which is good, right?

    dont want GD!!

Now Spain would be much nicer!
:( my sis is getting married in Spain next Thursday and I'm not going :(
Had no spare money for flights and with the GD it's probably for the best anyway but I could do with a nice break somewhere.

Fitzilian - head down is good. Do you have family history of any diabetes?
All my samples have been clear and my MW said bump size only matters when you are lying down and they measure the fundal height. Am sure you'll be fine, if she was worried she would have asked you to go back sooner or booked you for GTT.

morning all! had the MW come around this morning. All was good, found HB without too much trouble. She kept asking me if I *really* peed on the stick, as apparently all the colors on the stick were textbook, lol. Seriously am counting the days til the Next sale, lol, as my clothes feel tighter by the day! Simply don't have the cash at the mo to buy clothes any other way than on acct (but in MSE fashion, will be able to pay off before next month, don't worry, so no interest accrued :D).

My hubbie's bombshell news is that he is off on a business trip to India for a week on the first week of the school holidays when I will be 30 weeks pregnant, and we have no family living less than a 4 hour drive away. My DD has special needs and none of my friends would feel confident in looking after her overnight if I did for any reason need to go into hospital during this period.

His boss actually made a point of contacting me directly to tell me that his wife is due 6 weeks after me, and that she has told him that he cannot travel abroad after week 33, so that is why he is insisting that my OH goes now, as it is before his wife's cut off point for him.

What is particularly annoying is that my OH knew he needed to go out to India, and actually booked the trip to go more than 6 weeks ago, when I was a comfortable 21 weeks, and was then made to cancel it because too many other people on his team were also away that week, and there weren't enough senior people left in England to cover any emergencies
