Oh ladies, I had an email about a Government survey on midwifery and maternity services. This is the link for doing it http://cnm.independent.gov.uk/have-your-say/individuals/
It has to be done by August 10. More info here http://cnm.independent.gov.uk/2009/05/the-commission-has-met/
Think it's a good thing to have our say on - I know I have some strong views on MY midwifery care!:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Thanks for the reminder :rolleyes:
I'm sure I said earlier DON'T GOOGLE THESE THINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I too want a natural birth in MWL unit (with birthing pool for pain relief) and that is what I will continue to say I want until such a time that a c section is a requirement and not just something they say I have to have! (stamps her foot!)
Mine feels high up when he's rolling aboutA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
last couple of weeks the bump has expanded - getting a road map ABOVE my bellybutton.. not happy! mum had one stretch mark, ONE!
the religous slathering of moisturising cream on tummy has not worked! glad didnt spend a fortune on stretch-mark cream!
weird.. when i looked up GD it said it's not common... like 2%, but there seems like loads on here...
he's not coming out before 1st Sept... and that is a fact - we've had discussions about this and i'm not giving in...!!!:male:Alfie Sidney born 29th August 2009:male:0 -
I too have said not before 1st Sept - one this is when I will be 37 weeks so I want him cooked properly and two (rather selfishly) I want him to be oldest in the year (don't ask why cos I don't know!)
It's something like between 2% and 4% - there are 3 of us one here with it so I guess from the list that's probably about right
Trust the MSE girls - there's been a few people with conditions that are really rare!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

I'm so out of breath now. Perhaps I should 'forget' to make dinner tonight? Hmmm.
Hey Skinty sounds like my OH. I read an article in an old You magazine over the weekend about treating your OH like he's your employee (giving him a list of things to do, asking why he hasn't done such and such and taking over the control of almost everything in the household like booking holidays, sorting finance and general upkeep of the house).
I realised that is exactly what I do especially since my fella moved in with me from his parents and I'd been independent for years. I feel I am the voice of experience!! I'd already started talking at him about what will need doing when I'm in hospital! Anyway the article went on to suggest that you stop taking on everything yourself and stop asking him whether he has done what he was supposed to (it said that they are less likely to do anything if you keep on at him). I'm trying to give this ago as I'm starting to realise I'm a complete control freak and must be a pain to live with.
Have stopped telling him what needs doing (with the exception of the little tantrum I had when once again he pretended not to hear the cat shouting meowing at the bedroom door for an hour during the night). Finding it really hard though, I'm pretty certain we'll get the gas cut off, never go on holiday again, be living in a sty, garden will become a jungle etc etc......:rolleyes:0 -
same reason.. he'll be 39 weeks by then, but most important to me is that he's oldest in school year...
aparantly it takes August babies 16 years to catch up with September babies... theres a years difference in maturity when they start school and it takes forever for them to catch up...! i was oldest in school year and glad for it...
plus - its a nightmare for August babies to have proper birthday parties when get to school age cos everyone is on holiday....:male:Alfie Sidney born 29th August 2009:male:0 -
Girls - switch on Channel 4 NOW and tell me if you think this is a VERY weird programme?
EDIT: It's called Life Class, Today's Nude, and it's on from 12.30-1 (I only just found it while flicking) and it's basically a naked lady posing so you can draw her at home while some bloke talks about HIS drawing, which oyu can;t see!!
They have cut her head off halfway too so it all feels a bit pervy.
Dunno if they have men doing it too but Im not sure I think it's appropriate. I mean, I know that life drawing is not pervy but sticking this on TV means pervs can get their rocks off doesn't it?
It's VERY odd.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I fI don;t say anything it doesn;t get done at all! Then I end up doing it and being resentful. We;ve had so many chats about it but I just don;t know how to sort it out - he knows that certain things are his jobs and he still doesn;t do them until I go crazy.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
