I've been in bed all pm feel sooooo rough, throat is no better, neck is very stiff and i feel very drained hubby will have to get his own meal tonight i can't face eatting much. He told me yesterday that his place of work is the nerve center for swine flu in this area they have all tamiflu. Someone complained and asked to be moved away from someone as they saw they were holding a packet of tamiflu hubby tried to reasure her that it must be a family member just picking them up as the person who has the swine flu should not come out. But she was in a bit of a panic about it.
Been trying to get hold of my MW all pm while in bed about hosp wanting me to have a closer apt with her than sept. I think it's really bad i can't get hold of her. Weds is the only day she has a clinic so i can't get hold of her now until next week. Otherwise it is an emergency number which i can't ring just for an apt. This is my signature!0 -
I went into see the Registrar who was very nice, checked my bump, HB and BP all OK. Trace of Glucose in my urine. Asked him some questions - his responses
- If you control with diet only, we'll induce at 40 weeks
- If you go on Insulin, we'll induce at 38 weeks
- Due to being Induced early there is a risk of needing C Section
- Don't like you to go over 40 weeks, due to risk of stillbirth
Outside to wait for Diabetic Nurse ..........................................
She was running late so Consultant called me in, she too was very nice.
Looked at my Blood Sugar Diary and we talked about my diet - because I don't eat a huge amount and what I do eat is relatively healthy she was concerned about my high readings in the morning. So..........................
I'M ON INSULIN NOW - HAVE TO TAKE IT EVERY MORNING
Ended up back outside to see Diabetic Nurse who showed me how to inject my insulin and gave me a load of information. Head is spinning at the moment - they all said it's nothing I've done just my body can't cope with it
My HbA1C which looks at your sugar levels over the last 3 months was perfect so they think the GD has come on quite recently.
Had my routine bloods done whilst I was there and am still going to see the Community MW but have to go back to hospital in 2 weeks for Scan and check up.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

It's only Gestational Diabetes so should go as soon as baby is born - it's because the placenta chucks out stuff that your body can't always deal with. Will only be on Insulin til baby is born.
I feel like a pin cushion, Insulin every morning, finger !!!!! 3 times a day every day and an extra fasting one every 4 days.

Before I go catch up, my news.
Baby will be here in 4 weeks! :j:eek:
They will not let me go further than 37 weeks, but there is a slight problem with that... I may not get my VBAC. So I will be examined and if she is engaged and my cervix has softened enough, they will induce, if not then it's a section. I'm ok with it... I think.... Got a feeling it will be a c section but I can deal with it. I'm sure I can. Just think good thoughts.
However, if my BP starts to get funkey it will be a steroid and delivery job, they will not do what they usually do, dope me up and see if I will hang on. They are not going to risk it this time.
Feel good that there is a proper plan and I know what I'm doing now.
BP is up a bit but not too bad, only a tr protien and glucose, baby has a good heart rate and I have a prescription for methyldopa to see if they are better than labitalol, but I have been warned it could be the same. Collect it tomorrow sometime.
Gestational diabetes is linked to high blood pressure in pregnancy my consultant told me as they both develope from the same underlying metabolic condition. Bad news is that I can expect to get one or both when I am in my 50's given the recent research. Kick up the butt to start a healthy lifestyle then.
Starting to get sore when walking now too, hips, back and pelvic pain, not SPD but I can feel myself winding down now anyway so just going to pay particular attention to my posture when walking and not push it too far. Bad ligament pain too, but we are hoping all these BH will get her ready to come out the regular way rather than the sunroof way.
And the sandwich bar is starting to look lovely with a kinda biscuit colour and cream on the walls rather than lime green and white. Tables, chairs and one brown leather sofa arrived today and It's going to look super and be comfy (I plan on sitting my butt in there with some fancy coffee soon as I get a chance).0 -
tia - glad you have a plan of action now. My BP was fine today 90/57 although she struggled to get it! WIth the risk of Type 2 Diabetes later on I'll have to make sure I'm good from now on!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Don't worry EA i have had this problem in fact the only thing people have said is ''i didn't think you could try again yet'' I had to wait 3 months to get the drugs out of my system and it was dead on 3 months we tried and fell straight the way so i was meant to be as had tried for 5 months before ectopic. We didn't tell anyone though until our 12 week scan just to be sure. Only 2 of my friends have congratulated me the others haven't even picked up their phone it txt, let alone call or see me so screw them i know who my real friends are don't i?
It's a shame as the 2 freinds who are happy for me are quite new friends i have met through ds being at pre-school and i haven't heard a peep from my old/normal friends, one really annoys me as she is my close friend, was my bridemaid who i have known since we were 10. But i am used to it i always give 110% and put others first when they don't give a s**t about me, when said friend was pg her hubby txt me to tell me not her i rang her straight back. She had a baby shower and i wasn't invited. i have also just found out that sister in law had a baby shower and again i wasn't invited. She lives around the corner from me so no excuse she also recently held a baby shower for her friend who i also know and kept going on about what a fun girly nite they all had. Are people clueless to others feeling or just to mine?
Sorry i didn't mean to have a little rant then :rotfl:This is my signature!0 -
Hello, still here. Hope you not too upset Glam and can cope with the insulin. You sound very organised. X
Went for a walk in Lyme Regis today, anyone that knows Lyme will know the hills, MW's suggestion but I really struggled to get back to the car. Was hilarious watching DD's face though as she kept panicing so was worth the pain for that alone!!!Too many children, too little time!!!0
