Ooh Molly, how exciting! Good luck!!

WM that really sucks about your in-laws. Some people are so selfish sometimes I wonder if they genuinely don't think anyone else's needs are important.

I've had a lovely day baking the wedding cupcakes for my best friends' civil ceremony tomorrow. I'm so excited!! One of the guys getting married is at his mum's and the other is at the pub with a few friends including my hubby to be (who is the best man). Iwas down at the house earlier for tea but declined the pub as I'm so tired and wanted to clean up thw mess I made in the kitchen doing the baking!!

Only 10 weeks now til my wedding too so all very exciting at the moment. Plus we have another scan on Tuesday which I'm really looking forward to as we should be able to see the heartbeat!! (I'll be about 7 and a half weeks by then).

Good luck Mollie!! Can you send some of those labour vibes my way please?!!

Don't know what my baby is playing at! I've got absolutely no signs of anything starting to move yet - grrrr! I suppose there's one good thing, DS has an appointment with an anaesthetist tomorrow about taking a tooth out, so at least I'll be able to take him to that.

    Night all x

Just put up some lovely blackout curtains had ordered from littlewoods, very good price and really lovely quality, hopefully can sleep a little later now, and maybe through the day when am tired. Will let you know how good they are at blocking sun when the morning comes, but so far am really impressed.

Right, I've not been on all weekend so this is a bitty post:

Nancmat - I'm so sorry about your cat. Mine is fairly wobbly and I keep wondering if she will make it to meet the baby, so I know you must be devastated. But you did the right thing - you didn't want her to suffer. :A

Congratulations Boogellyboo on feeling your first kick! It's so exciting isn't it?! :j

Searching - your boy is BEAUTIFUL!
Mrs Moc - Cliodhna Grace is GORGEOUS
    :T

Someone was talking placentas - mine is on the back wall and I cannot feel a thing back there even when I know the baby is pushing feet on it because the back is pushing my tummy waaaay out! It's so weird not to feel it isn't it?

got-it-spend-it - you were asking about cot bumpers. I have ready they can be dangerous and are not recommended as babies can get underneath them and be suffocated. Was in Tracy Hogg's book, and I also read it in an article somewhere.

Molly - how exciting! Good luck!!

Question - is a blackout blind necessary? Baby will be in our room and i like the light in the mornings - will it be a problem or can they learn to sleep in the light?

We had a new path put in the front today and it is great. We only had a half path before so now we have one that goes all the way to the pavement (always handy!) so we will be able to get the pram in and out. OH has put up a blind for me, and also put up my swanky new washing line by Brabantia which folds away. It is fab but pricey (gift from my mummy). http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brabantia-Wallfix-Wall-Mounted-Dryer/dp/B000NTDDL6 It's big when it's out but so compact on the wall. Can;t wait to hang nappies all over it! :D

    Morning everyone!

It was obviously quiet on here last night. There's hardly anything to catch up on.

PinkPig and Tara- sending you lots of easy, quick labour vibes, Hopefully Molly is beyond needing them by now.

Skinty- I think blackout blinds are useful for teaching baby the difference between night and day, otherwise it could be hard to get baby back to sleep at 4am. I'm not sure it's an essential though, so you can always see how you go for the first weeks.

Off to work in a bit, just having a yummy breakfast first. Baby is kicking away as I have my over the bump trousers on and I think he objects! x x

  • Morning all!

    30 weeks today :eek::D

Can't believe it! How did that happen?! (well, I kind of have an idea:rolleyes:)

Got our 1st NCt class tonight and hypnobirthing tomorrow. It's really getting close.

Dh foolishly mentioned to his Mum that we were considering a homebirth. Thank god he didn't mention water or hypnobirthing! You would have thought we'd just suggested giving birth suspended from a chandalier. At HOME?!?! What an outlandish notion. She had hers in hospital so so should everyone else. We haven't actually decided yet - going to have a home visit in next few weeks so we can ask lots of questions and the MW can check out the home sitch.
