whats everyone had/ having for lunch?
think i might have some scrambled eggs..:male:Alfie Sidney born 29th August 2009:male:0 -
Maternity Leave all sorted yesterday, with one of the directors.
3 months full pay, 20 days holiday, so effectively with christmas 4 months at full pay. Yay!:j
Put my letter on the other directors desk so he can't say he doesn't know. He's come in today and said i'm taking the Pi$$. I lost it, told him to P off and if i want to i can take a full year off and there is nothing he can do about it. He gets on my wick, proper chauvenist pig. Says absolutely nothing to the bloke in work who had two toddlers when he comes in late, goes home early or is off due to his kids. But if me and the other girl in the office are off at all due to children we get moaned at and sarky comments.
Well he can just add up five years off cig breaks that he and the others who smoke in the office have taken and i'm sure that will give me a good few days leave.
His wife never worked, so he has no idea and neither of his adult children have kids. So he has no idea, what its like to have kids and work. The guilt, the constant juggling of time and commitment. Hormones are not liking him today at all.................. insert lots of swear words.0 -
Congratulations on the new job Glam I'm really quite envious! Lots of exciting things coming for you :j Sorry to hear about the GD, though I may be joining you if I eat any more Areos.
Tried to have an ironing marathon this morning, put my fan on and a girlie film but turned out to be more of a fun-size snickers than a marathon lol! Still got many mountains of the stuff waiting for me in the spare/baby's room.
Had a big big row/crisis talks with OH last night he is having a bit of nightmare at work at the mo, mainly just office politics but he keeps bringing it home with him and walking around in cloud of anger and snapping at the slightest thing. When we row about anything he threatens to leave work or go on the sick and that to be honest puts the fear of God in me as we wouldn't be able to pay the rent or anything else for that matter. I wish it would all settle down as I'm finding my hormones hard enough to deal with on their own.
Doesn't feel quite as hot as yesterday here as there's a bit more of a breeze but would much rather potter about in my flip-flops and shorts than get dressed in my work clothes grr!
Stay cool everyone x0 -
Well been for my hospital appointment. The doctor examined me which was fairly uncomfortable. She said my cervix was very posterior and completely closed
She couldn't really do a proper sweep but I'm hoping that the bit of prodding around she did do will help things along. I've been booked in for an induction next Friday at 8pm. It would actually work out quite well if I did go that far, as my dad would be able to have DS until Saturday afternoon. After that I'm sure my neighbour would help out.
Triggles - we don't speak to DSDs mum as unfortunatley things turned sour with her about a year ago. Going from the examination today though it seems fairly unlikely that I will go into labour in the next couple of days anyway so hopefully we won't have to cross that bridge. But I'm definitely going to stress to DH the fact that HE would be responsible for her being here alone, whereas she could be at her mums where we know she would be safe.
Sending vibes to you MTW and Tara. Have you got an induction date MTW? I can't remember whether you said or notSealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -
Glam - thanks! And that seems to be a bit of a no-brainer! I think it's great that an organisation will wait for the right candidate when they're PG. The way it should be. Have you told your current boss?
Seems like a lot involved in monitoring the GD, especially as you were borderline
I just fell asleep - wonder if I got some kind of heat exhaustion this week and am still recovering?
Lunch? Hmm... lazy option - make up a roll with cheese n ham... not so lazy... fresh spag with pesto (only involves boiling but I really am that tired at the moment!)MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!

Hi everyone !!
Labour vibes to those in need !!
Congrats on the job Glam, I am soo happy for you
Dont panic about the GD, it is really easily controlled and I am not sure why they told you they normally only test for histories of Type 2, cuz most of my family have Type 2 and I didnt have to get it done at all !!!
Hope everyone has a nice dayThe two best things I have done with my life

STOPTOBER CHALLANGE ... here we go !!0 -
I had ham, cheese and pickle sandwich. I seem to go through phases of having the same thing pretty much then all of a sudden I won't like it any more (previously it was ham, lettuce, cucumber and salad cream).
For those feeling the heat, it is best to just open your windows first thing in the morning and last thing at night because during the hottest time of day you are just letting the heat in. I tend to keep the blinds in my living room down and the door closed to keep it cool during the day then I'll open the windows about 7/8ish. When I get home from work I open the windows and close the door to our bedroom (top floor of three storeys) so that it will be cool by the time we want to go to bed. I say "I" but it is usually OH
Labour vibes for all.
Good luck with all regarding SMP and maternity allowance. I thought that SMP was what you get if you have been with your employer over a certain number of weeks and if you were not entitled to it you can get maternity allowance. I work in finance and I find trying to figure out benefits etc. that I might be able to claim confusing. I think when I get closer to EDD I'll call HMRC to ask.Tegan Lily arrived 4 November 2009 (3 days late)

Hello all,
I have finally lost my ankles! They went off somewhere on Tuesday and haven;t returned sinceMy hands are also puffing up. I know I should be grateful this is only happening at 37 weeks but I'm not!
joined my local Parents Yahoo group the other day and today I went and got a JoJoMaman nursing dress for £15 and the Baby Whisperer book for £2 from a lovely lady. I don't know if they have these groups for everywhere but it's great.
In about half an hour I have to leave for my growth/is baby still breech? scan.
I'm quite worried about it being breech although all the movement is at the top of my bump so I'm really hoping it has turned. I have done some exercises to try and get it to, but not as many as I could have done as they involve being upside down and are uncomfortable.
Growth-wise, I really do think the baby is fine, just smaller than average, rather than growth-!!!!!!, but today we find out for sure anyway.
if it's bad news I may not come back on today. I have my last antenatal class tonight and will need to hold myself together for that if there is something wrong with the baby.
Labour vibes to all who need them, and cooling vibes to everyone!:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Mines the day after - the 11th, but I have to ring in the morning at 8am to book in, so don't know what time yet.
Your sweep sounds like mine pinkpig, mw wasn't hopefull at all and my cervix was posterior too, but at least I have had a "show", some people don't even get that. Sending you big labour and successfull sweep vibes your way, hun, x.
EDIT: skinty - good luck with your scan, will be thinking of you, xValue of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

I've just been on a little trip to TK Maxx and got some good baby bargains if anyone has one near them.
I got a babasling, which usually retails at £39.99 (though there are also some on ebay for £29.99) for £24.99. I also got a baby elegance changing bag, which is really smart and I plan to keep it in the living room for emergency changes during the day for £9.99.
There were some really nice soft fluffy cot and pram blankets and baby sleeping bags too, but they were in pink or blue and I don't know what flavour I'm having, and some other bits like sterilisers and bottle sets for not a lot of money, which I don't need.
Just for me I also found a really nice cream cotton Janet Reger dressing gown for hospital to take into hospital, so can feel a little glam despite the circs!0
