Oh MM, while your on. You said you had stocked up on milk, how much did you buy. i'm going for Apitamil again, but not sure how many i should get though, in case i need to move to hungry baby or the easy digest one. Can't even remember how long a box may last at first.

I think last time, i just bought one SMA to have in, and later changed to aptamil, but would rather have a stock of milk in this time.

Ducks and runs for cover, because not breastfeeding.......

*chucks stuff cos your looking guilty* Dunno what your looking guilty for, I can only assume you stole ice cream or something.

Think they boys went through 4 boxes in a month.... Maybe get 2? That way you will only waste 1 box if you change.

Thanks searching and Tia and xmaslolly

Also, 5 years ago when i had DS, i could buy milk from the baby clinic. Used to buy 3 boxes of Aptamil there for the price of two in boots /asda.

Seem to remember reading somewhere a long time ago, that this had been stopped, because they thought it promoted non breastfeeding, or something like that. Is this correct? Keep meaning to ask midwives when i see them, but bad, bad baby brain does not allow me to remember.

Its 7 yrs since i had my last so i dont know about the milk from clinics now. I was talking to my friend down the roads the other day and she told me there weren't any baby clinics by us any more due to cut back so it could be true. I can't see how they can just stop doing it though as a lot of people have the tax credit thing to get discounted milk and the shops didnt accept it back then only the clinics did.

4 years ago you still did.

I remember collecting my child benefit money for DS1 and walking down to get 4 boxes of baby milk! :rotfl:

Been 6 years since last time I did this !!! And I have been very non MSE for the last 2 days and bought ready to use cartons :)
I bought 2 tubs to have in the house as I figured that I could change one if I really had to, but would save me having to run to the shop too quickly after he was home !!

Oh and yes, shops are not allowed to have promotions on formula unless it is on follow on milk !!!!!!!!! It is against breast is best campaign and they have an agreement with all of the chemists etc.. that they will not do 2 4 1 or 3 4 2 on any of the baby formulas.

If the box is still sealed asda will swap them
The quickest Chris used to go through was just over a box a week

Xmas - I suggest you don't buy any formula if you want to BF, I stayed strong and didn't get any 'just in case milk' and I'm so glad - I know I would have used it in the first week when I had a bad day but I muddled through and then the next day couldn't believe I was gonna stop the day before because its been fine ever since :T

So, what do you about getting baby weighed. Is that all done at doctors now? Its all changed since i had DS. Plus i've moved areas. Then i went to a baby clinic to get him weighed by the Health Visitor, they even had an evening one, for us working mums.

Now i've noticed on the electronic screen at my doctors surgery that they have baby clinics there, on a week day in the afternoon. Not good for me when back at work after 4 months. May have to pop out once a month to get him/her weighed.

Think i will do as Tia suggest and just by two normal aptamil. And a few of those ready made cartons for the day i get out of hospital - will be easier - elective section pending. Don't know what it is about breastfeeding , but it just makes my toes curl. DS didn't breastfeed and he's more that fine, so i have no problem with bottled milk.
