ML - I think I with you in the "I'll just get on with things as usual" camp, and it was only yesterday that I actually decided that I will be taking the week before my due date as annual leave. I'll be 38+3 on the friday that will be my last day. ATM, I am actually finding it easier to be in the office because it's a/c, so cooler than being at home and it's in the city centre, so away from the pollen! I think I would be considering things differently if I was in a hot office in these temps. If I was you, I would be tempted to see how things go...but still be open to taking leave if needed :D There is no point being set on something if it makes your last few weeks difficult. ;)

Not much news from me. I have stopped bleeding now and am just spotting, but I have had the rest of my "show".
Had a little blub last night, not quite sure why, just feel really hormonal. I think it was beacuse I was sooooo hot and felt a bit of a failure .

Labour vibes to MTW, pinkpig and tara. You're all doing so well, especially in this weather.

My fingers and toes are really itchy, and a friend of mine looked at a picture of my belly and said it looks like I have at least two weeks to go. Waaaaaaaaah. I wanna be a queue jumper!

Still, I'm hoping to get out to an outdoor swimming pool tomorrow. That sounds like it would be a wonderful idea.

I am very pleased with myself today. The downstairs looks very nice, tidy and clean. I have done more today than i have all week. The house gets me down a bit because when i worked and i guess even up to when my son was prob walking the house looked perfect not a thing out of place and everything had a home where it belonged. But then i guess we weren't in it that much to get it messy. I worked split shifts so i would come home for 2 1/2 hours and go back to work again so nothing got un tidy. Now there is carp everywhere nothing has a home and you can't move for tripping on something or standing on a toy.

My mother got my son into marbels and they are the worst things ever, they get every where and they will soon have to go as i can just see me falling after slipping on one.
A lot of the stuff i can't move or do on my own so i have to wait for hubby to get home but then he doesn't get home very early manages play with ds quickly before bed and then it dinner and bed so nothing gets done.

Upstairs it awful it is where we dump everything as no one goes upstairs. I can't actually get into what will be the babies room at the moment and a i don't know where to start with it all. I need someone to come over and just sell what they can and skip the rest for me as i am sure i wouldn't miss it if someone else did it. moan over.

    morning ladies...

been catching up for ova an hour... someone mentioned to Glam about maternity allowance... do you think i could claim that once i'm off my employers books - redundancy should be finalised in 2 weeks... have worked for same company for last 3years (almost)

If you qualify for SMP then you should still get it if you leave your job or are made redunant - I read that on directgov website.

ML - I'll find my post about my job situation as it is quite confusing!

Been to the hospital this am - I have to check my blood sugars every other day, but 3 times on that day. I have to do a fasting one once a week. I have to go back to the hopsital to the diabetic clinic either next Weds or the Weds after. Apparently they like you to deliver between 38 and 40 weeks but I'll find that out at clinic. I also should get one more scan to check growth etc. MW was lovely and very funny which relaxed me a lot - I have to carry a little sharps bin around with me and my kit to test my sugars when I'm out and about.
It;s going to be the change in diet that's going to hit me the most but I am determined to do it!!

Right to clairfy the job sutuation as I do appear to have confused you all sorry!! :o

Before current employer offered me promotion, I applied for a job with a Local Hospital Trust. Got my promotion and then had interview for Hospital job which I have been offered today.

Apparently I was an exceptional candidate, by far the best of them all and they have no hestiations in offering me the job. They are happy to wait until after my Mat Leave but want me to hand my notice in to my current employer now so that I am employed by them before I go on Mat Leave. I just need to check how this affects SMP.

Current Job - no sick pay, no maternity pay, working from Liverpool across to Manchester over 16 sites.
New Job - same salary, sick pay, maternity pay, creche at the hospital (which I can go on waiting list for as soon as I get employed!) and managing a team looking after 90 sites in a smaller area.

Think new job has much better benefits and opportunities!
