Morning, off to the midwife at nine, then on to work. I am so hot this morning- really want to just lie on the sofa all day with the fan on.

Morning all, another hot day for us all to endure!!

Well we went to see the cat at the vets last night i was crying before we got in, took her own food and one of hubbys t-shirts for her to sunggle into, she meowed as soon as she us and we gave her lots of cuddles, she still hasnt gone to the toilet on her own, but was drinking lots and licked the jelly, bless her. Just waiting to hear from vet this morning..

My dad and his wife came over last night, havent seen them for 6months and they bought us some lovely baby bits, babygrows snowsuits etc in newborn which was good because I had no newborn just 0-3 months. Also got us a baby name book (cant like names we've suggested) got us a haines car type baby manual as well, very cute and man friendly.

Supposed to be cooling off in the next few days, so at least we'll have some relief! I worry about our 2 yo when I can't cool the house down at all - only thing I can really do is put on a fan in his room and provide him with drinking water for during the night. A bit counterproductive for potty training though! lol

Well im prepared for another hot one have loads of ice in the freezer along with ice lollys apparently it is going to be the hottest day in the midlands for the last 8yrs oh joy!!. I now have 2 fans curtains are closed to keep the heat out and the windows are open. I think i may be sorely tempted to fill the bath with cold water later and just dive in :-)

Got an appointment at the hospital today to have bloods taken for the downs screening, not sure what it's called.
Will i just have bloods taken or will i see a mw too?
It's not in the usual place i'd see a mw, but a lot of people talk about having a 16wk mw appt so confused! I've done a urine sample just in case they want one, but haven't a clue!

Beenie - I asked for all the downs tests but dont remember them using my bloods to do it, just at the scan they took all the measurements and then give you a chance of 1 in however many.. What week appointment are you having>

I remember getting bloods taken at 12wks and 16wks for down testing - don't recall the specific name though.

nanc i'm 16+5 today, i didn't have a nuchal scan, if that's for the same thing - i just had bloods taken at booking in (12 weeks) and dating scan at 12 weeks.

Not seen anyone since then, all i know is i have to go to the day assessment unit on materity ward for bloods! Next appointment is 20 wk scan

Ahh they must have used my bloods at the 12 week ones then, I dont remember though doesnt feel like ive had many appointments, next is 28 weeks...after my 4d scan yeyyy...

Your be fine, i feel sick its so hot x
