Have you spoken to the HV or midwife if she's still coming about the problems with your supply? If you have, then as soon as the HV starts to look down her nose at you, you can immediately say: "I did my best, I fed for x days/weeks but my supply wasn't keeping up. I asked for advice but it didn't work and my baby was hungry and dehydrated and the weather was hot, so what was I supposed to do?"
If you haven't asked for any support though, provided you do want to continue with the bf if it can get easier for you, then you should do it now urgently. Do they have any weekend/out of hours bf support local to you?
At the end of the day, you are the mum, and all these kinds of decisions are ultimately down to you. It's not like you're putting vodka in the baby's bottle to make him sleep. You are making a legitimate choice in the best interests of you and the baby, and its not down to the HV to second guess you on it, provided you aren't actually doing anything dangerous or illegal!

Try http://www.laleche.org.uk/pages/about/helpline.htm for some support now, if you want it. They do a telephone helpline as well as some written advice on their website.
And if you do decide to supplement or switch, have a big glass of wine tonight, and don't give it a second thought!0 -

Thanks Sugar
I've never been able to see anyone elses baby but as soon as I saw mine I could make out every bit of her. Must be the mummy prep my brain is going through.
I've found something to wear tonight, its fairly cool and looks quite pretty. Not 60s but I'm not much of a fan of fancy dress anyway. I just don't want to look like a fat lump.

Thanks to all who directed me to Quidco - £289.30 since Nov 09 :beer:0 -
Hopefully I'll recognise all the baby's bits when she comes out. Till then my OH is good at spotting the appropriate parts and kind enough to pretend he's just exclaiming over them rather than actually telling me what they are.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
