You're most welcome Queenie! What a good idea to join the Patient Forum. Hopefully you will be able to get some changes made.
One thing they now do at our surgery is to offer some "telephone consultations" each day. The doctors do them on a rota, so you don't necessarily get to speak to your own GP, but it's good if you don't mind which doctor you speak to that particular day and if you don't actually need to be examined. If the doctor you speak to feels you need to be examined he/she will arrange a same-day appointment for you in any case. We find it's often possible to get a telephone consultation even though the ordinary appointments have all gone, and the doctors like them too because it saves time so they can deal with more patients. Just thought I'd mention it in case you think it's worth suggesting at your surgery.0 -

What a GREAT idea, ivyleaf!!! :T :T :T  I shall give that some serious thought and discuss it with the Practice Manager when we have our meeting.
I did emphasise that I'm not complaining - simply enquiring about the changes that have been made and the fact that we (the patients) are not informed of those changes or indeed, what those changes *are*!!!
My GP is absolutey fantastic and I wouldn't swap her for the world; the system leaves much to be desired though
Thankfully, the new Manager is a dream to speak to and to be invited to be a part of the Patient Forum is something I'm looking forward to. I was speaking to a neighbour the other day who raised equally pertinent questions, so in some way, I'll be able to address those too and be of some use (even though just small) to the Community as a whole.
Really appreciate those thoughts, ivyleaf, many thanks~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
