Hi everyone
At work today so OH has taken the small person down to the Booth Museum at Brighton [it's free] which is a natural history one.
Shall put the washing out when I get home and then do the weekly menu plan. Am off to Tesco this evening [see if I can swell that Pin Money acct!
and hope to pick up some lamb. It's my parents ruby wedding on Easter Sunday and we're planning to cook them a special meal based around the colour red. Have got a few ideas but haven't finalised the menu yet.
Today for tea it's finish up Friday so that'll be the leftover veg stirfried with soy sauce and put in a tortilla wrap.
I'm working tomorrow morning and then weather and energy levels permitting I may take the small person off to see if the nettles are ready for making into soup
Have a great weekend

Edinburghlass wrote:There is one dead wild swan in Scotland, not a break out of bird flu and another 14 birds that have to be tested according to the BBC website.
The chickens that the likes of Tesco are selling on BOGOF are battery chicks which never see the light of day let alone meet up with a wild bird so I think it very unlikely that there will be a rise of prices, more likely a drop in price as people panic about the thought of bird flu.
The people to feel sorry for are the organic breeders who now have to bring all their chooks inside instead of allowing them to roam free.
My friend has 8 chickens that she "rescued" from the chicken farms and currently 'houses' in a small old caravan in her garden (its been a nippy winter!). I asked her what she would do *if* there is an outbreak of bird 'flu and her thoughts are to put them back into the caravan and keep them in. Not ideal, but as they've been overwintered on the coldest of days in the caravan anyway, they shouldn't find it too stressful.
PS: Anyone thinking of getting their own chickens might consider getting them from the battery farms!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

SOMO1 - Fab news, you must be so pleased :T
VickyA - Sadly we all have to get old, but it doesn't make it any easier watching your own relatives deteriorate. My Nana had CJD & start to finish it was over in 2 months. Quite a relief really.
Michelle - Happy Birthday! :j Have a good one
Kiwichick - Good to have you back, if only briefly. Fingers crossed for the move
Bargain Rzl - Haven't you eaten all that fish pie yet?Oh, and I'm holding you & your clothing budget thread wholly responsible for my spending splurge at Cheshire Oaks yesterday
. I have a new suit (navy with pale blue pin stripe) & after reading the thread decided I needed more pale blue tops in order to make me wear it more often. I got a stretch cotton shirt & fine knit v neck sweater from Gap for £22.
I really have to go do some work now, so sorry if I've missed you out, especially those who are ill (glad you're feeling better Lillibet ) and PP don't we need to start calling you PC instead? (as in pincushion!). Have a lovely evening. I plan to go the gym about 4, it's duck breasts for tea & then an evening infront of the TV watching the rugby. The WM is loaded & waiting for our dirty gym kit when we get back.

Hi,
Now that I've introduced myself on the "getting to know you" type thread, thought I'd try & join in with the daily post.
Today is going very s-l-o-w-l-y. It's accounting & payroll year end at the moment so this week has been very busy. Today is much calmer & the afternoon seems endless. I do have filing to do but it's not looking too appealing!
I am going to a new gym class tonight - Body Pump. I do Body Balance on Thursdays which is a mix of yoga, pilates & tai chi. We started the new routine last night & I have a few achy muscles so hope tonight isn't too intensive!
I am also getting my hair cut this evening. This seems to be a recurring theme here today!. It has stayed fairly tidy since last time as I popped in & had my fringe trimmed a couple of weeks ago.
I may pop to the local with bf & friends for a couple of drinkies once I'm done depending how tired I feel! I might just veg & watch "Hustle".
Lunch: Ham & Salad sarnie, banana, apple & clementine
Dinner: Stuffed peppers

Not posted for a few days and can't manage a long one today, but here goes!
Apologies in advance to those I don't mention in person, and (((((hugs))))) to everyone who needs one for whatever reason.
P-P (((((HUGS))))) I hope the needles will be worth it in the end. You're a brave lady! Best wishes for your DD's party tomorrow.
SOMO1 So pleased to hear about your OH's new job!
Michelle Happy Birthday!
Kiwichick Sorry your original move fell through - hopefully the house you're now buying will turn out to have been a better option anyway. Lovely to have such a big garden! Nice to see you back, we've really missed you.
Aussielass So sorry you are still having house-moving problems too! We've been here 23 years, ever since OH left the Army, and I dread ever having to move. Our neighbours have had a new crack appear in one of their walls, so am now wondering if both our houses will need underpinning!
MATH Dont know if you'll see this, but I'm thinking of you all.
Bargain Rzl - I've enjoyed reading your "clothes" thread! Thanks for your tips on the best times and places to look for reduced meat. BTW I've pm'd you in case you haven't read it yet!
Queenie ((((hugs)))) - just 'cos you deserve some really!
Best wishes to you all, and hope you have a good weekend.
Managed a longer post than I thought I could!

Evening all
Well that is the weekend started...
had to w**k to 330pm today as OH didnt get the car back till 315pm - thankfully there is only one thing to be fixed.
OH is away to work now (see I can say if properly when it is not me that is going) - so I am going to surf till my hearts content then watch Hustle later.
Re the case of bird flu that has been found here - I remember going on holiday there about 15 yrs ago - the beach where the swan was found my nephew (who is now 19) buried his father in the sand - we still have the photos as we used to holiday in that area a lot - it is lovely part of Scotland.
Will give the house a quick going over then that is me settled for the night - got some special red medicine from Mr Sainsburys to help me chill.
PP - hope your DD has a very lovely birthday tomorrow and has a great party - you relax and enjoy yourself.
Talking of haircuts - I must make an appointment for mine -I should have got it cut 3 weeks ago at least and I look like a scarecrow at the moment - must go and make appointment now
Take care all
