    Shez

    4 ozs flour
    2 ounces marg
    2 ounces castor sugar

Rub the fat into the flour and sugar, stir in an ounce of porridge oats, spread over the top of your fruit and then sprinkle with demererra sugar before putting in the oven. The sugar makes the top go crunchy.

When I make the crumble to put in the fridge I do not upt the oats in, but stir them in before it goes in the oven, the fridge will make the oats go soft.......

    Hi everyone!
Quiet day here today....I have no complaints!
Not a great deal of OS as am at work but did the floors washed with my HM vinegar cleaner before I left.
Will make tomorrows lunches when I get back and then we're having pasta with bacon and peppers for tea.
Other than that I think it'll be a bit of stitching whilst watching the box.

When we went to a hockey match year before last in Fife, they had stovies, when we got to the front of the queue they had ran out :(

    How exactly are they cooked?

    AFTERNOON!

Had a rubbish night last night :( Had made plans to see my new "friend" (what do u call someone ur dating but who is not your boyfriend?!! hmm) but when i rang him when i got home he asked if id mind if we skipped seeing each other as he really needed an early night (which i knew he did as hed had a rubbish/stressful day at work) .........so i agreed.. but disapointment set in and stupid stupid me ended up in tears! :o  (probably a bit because id just had a run in with some people over trouble caused by my horrible ex!) How to scare a potential boyfriend off though eh? He was a darlin though and instead of getting an early night spent about 2 hours on the phone to me reassuring me i was NOT a rubbish person and that everything would be ok soon... :o:o Hes said hes not gonna judge me or run a mile cos luckily he knows what a poop time ive had/am having lately. :) Still feel reeeeeaaallly stupid for breaking down "infront" of him.. didnt want him to know that side of me - yet at least!

Anyway.. after that i settled down with a film (Stepford wives) and a pack of choccie bics and ate the lot! :o Tried to go to sleep about 2am but my allergy or something kicked in and i couldnt breathe or anything so ended up sitting up till 5am trying to make myself feel better!

Got up this morning about 11am... :o Then have just come online and done a few bits and then headed out into the yard to pot up my organic tomato plants and strawberries i got at the weekend! :j :D

Thought id be thrifty and go out in the entry/alley (whatever u wanna call it) and salvage some broken bricks that have been there months out of an overturned wheelie bin to use as crocks in the pots for drainage... start picking them up when i notice a bit of a funny smell and realise about 6 inches from my hand is a decaying/mumified dead rat   I quickly decided to pick up the bricks from the other side and rushed back into my yard! eugh! _pale_

Anyway then i realise i have no drainage holes in the troughs i was gonna plant my other flowering plants in.. so try and make some with a squewer (sp?) and a lighter + a hammer :rotfl: But it didnt work - surprisingly :rotfl: So ive just rang Nicki to ask can i pick up my dads drill that shes borrowed off him! Might be a bit easier ;):p Plus then i can put my new holdbacks for my curtains up :j Have lived in the house 8 months and have been using a hoop of fabric rounbd the curtain and hooking it onto the windowsill edge all this time... finally fed up of it... the original holdbacks i saw in B&Q where £7 each! But a bit further down the aisle they do virtually identical ones just tad smaller and B&Qs own for £1.98 for 2 so i got some of them :j

Rang my mum just now and she was at my uncles whos just kindly offered me some masonary paint for free so i can re-paint my yard! As the landlord seems to have used normal emulsion and its all coming off in the weather! So witha bit of elbow grease...it should be looking all spiffy and cool sooon! :D Will keep me busy too! ;)

Anyway will be off to Nickis soon.. nice 20 minute walkn there in the sunshine with the added bonus of seeing my niece too! :)

    Have a good day everyone!

Gosh, where has April gone? Haven't posted for about a week cos things have just been soooooo busy. The upside of that is tomorrow is payday again, hooray! Sadly the savings balance in my signature is going down rather than up as we have paid for most of our Australia trip & the bathroom this month. Bargain Rzl yours is looking very good indeed, well done! :T
Oh, and I've just bought myself a new suit at lunchtime  What can I say, it was a bargain! Charcoal grey linen with fine pinstripe for £25 (plus VAT) from Costco. I might go back on Saturday & get another!
My sister & niece are visiting at the weekend, as BIL & nephew are away on a lads rugby tour. Really need to get organised, otherwise my niece is going to be sleeping in the old bath. (BTW, still don't have a bathroom, but fingers crossed it's being done next Tuesday)
Hugs to all, especially those in pain & those of you who were up at the crack of dawn this morning.
  • Afternoon Guys!

DD has gone to her friends for tea tonight and is so quiet here..LOL. SIL has been today and did a few jobs and the ironing. OH has been weeding to the front lawn and mowed the grass. He also went up the driving range with his friend this afternoon and had a much deserved break. OH bought DD's knicker and sock drawer downstairs so I could sort through them, many were too small so have been given to niece. She needs some new socks as she is a size 5 and only 11.

Our HA came and fitted a new DG piece of glass to our back door as it had steamed up a little and painted the window ledges:confused: not moaning and looks much better-just a little surprised.

Got to go as I need to make a phonecall.
    Hope everyone is ok.

    hello again

skystar - the sun is still shining here and the forecast is quite good so it should be fine in nairn

zed42 - stressedoutmum is right about the potty training it just wont happen if they are not ready

glad - sorry to hear about your abcess, they are so painful

ageandjo - glad your oh can get something done about his knee

nutty - glad you are feeling better today

    stovies

fry a couple of onions in oil really well, add plenty of thinly sliced peeled potato and stir add chicken stock cube and water to come halfway up potatoes cover and cook till potatoes breaking up, stir and add corned beef or any leftover meat, stir and warm through
a dryish potato is best to use and the idea is for most of the stock to be absorbed, you dont want the stovies to be too wet

dinner for me - chicken from the freezer, i buy a whole chicken and roast it then i can get four meals from it then three days of soup from the carcass for myself, so the buy one get one free at tesco was a good bargain for me

    love to all
