jo - sorry to hear you aren't on top of the world. kick that boyf's !!!!!! into gear and get him to pamper you ;) bath, candles, soft music, back rub. mmmmmmm

    Morning everyone :hello:

    Happy birthday FirstClassMale! :bdaycake:

I hope that everyone's day is going better than mine so far.............. I've just had a "telling off" via letter from a parent because I told her son to borrow some shorts for a PE lesson. He's borrowed some before the last time he "forgot" to bring his PE kit, but this time it seems that I shouldn't have forced him.   Blimmin' parents!

jockettuk - glad to hear that I've been some help with your DD. If only my class would suddenly leap up 23% before their SATS.......... please? :D

OH has taken my car tax bits and pieces off, so by the end of the day that'll be one thing to be ticked off my list. At last! I still need to convert some Tesco clubcard vouchers into Avis vouchers to pay for our honeymoon car hire. It may get done............ one day :)

    b: branflakes
    l: pitta bread with hummous
d: ostrich burgers, potatoes and veggies

Have a good day everyone

    Morning all

Hugs to anyone that needs them!

Feeling much better today. Happier and a lot more cheerful :j

Going to see some friends tonight after w*** to do an agenda for a meeting with the owner of the Ice hockey club we support - should be fun!

Looks a bit grim outside in the wide wide world but seemed warmish when I got on the train.

    No breakfast this morning
Lunch - Smokey cheese and Chipottle tabasco on brown, skips, orange
Tea - HM Curry (mmm haven't had one for a week!)

Have also bought into w*** the remaining mini eggs and creme eggs so that they get eaten up here and not by me at home. Really must make an effort to de rubbish food the house (Crisps, chocolate etc.)

Had confirmation that I am definately on the Ice Hockey team for a charity match between the supporters of our local rivals in the summer so much make a concious effort to get fit and to skate more!

    Have a happy day everyone

Happy Birthday Firstclassmale    . I'm always amazed at how many birthdays there are at this time of the year. July must be a very fertile month.

Well it was my birthday yesterday so today I'm going out for a meal with my parents to a pub/restaurant called The Castle at Caister. They do lovely meals there and it's quite good value for money. And best of all my parents are paying :T :T :T

Theres also a really cheap frozen food shop there which I will be visiting today.

  • Thanks for all the birthday wishes. The finger seems ok but she's worried she might lose the nail. I was woken up with lots of little nice pressies and just as I was being taken outside, still half asleep from my 2am bedtime to get another present, a giant outdoor game of Jenga, the decorators, who weren't supposed to be here until after 10 were waiting outside!

I have now treated door frames with linseed oil applied with an old holey sock over my hand. Linseed oil is great MOS stuff. It can be used on a variety of wood, very easy to apply and, although I have a 5 litre container, will stretch a long way. It also moisturises your hands which is a welcome relief after the sanding.

    EDIT
Happy belated Birthday Black Saturn. You have given me a mental picture of haystacks in July and my mother and father. Please, please let me think of something else

It's a lovely sunny day here (at the moment - rain later, I think!) so washing is out on the line.

    Morning :hello:

Happy Birthday and Welcome to FirstClassMale (great username!!!!) Hope you stick around and aren't scared away by all the girly chat (as a man you are very much in the OS minority!)

Well IT'S PAYDAY :j :j :j as you can see from the leap in my savings! Not only that, but they seem to have got my tax code right :j :j :j When they do, April is always nice cos you start to see an extra couple of quid in your net wages due to the routine raising of the tax thresholds for inflation. It's put my take-home pay up by just over £4 - not a fortune I know, but handy when it happens to be the same month as the council tax goes up  :D

Savings should hop up by another £122 on Sunday - got £72 to come in for extra choir stuff over Easter, and then there's the £50 I've been "not spending" (see my signature) which is so far intact but I'm not counting my chickens until the month is over!

Also I HAVE THE AFTERNOON OFF :j :j :j I am going to hear the semifinal of a major classical singing competition which I go to every year to see if I can spot the big opera stars of the future :D The final is on Friday evening. So am not lingering on MSE this morning as I have lots to do before I duck out of the office at 1 o'clock.

PP and Moggins - sorry you're not feeling too well this morning :(

black-saturn - I hope you have a nice meal out with your parents

Jo - I hope the new bed is all you're hoping it will be, and that your mildly useless boyf manages to take delivery of it without needing somebody to hold his hand ;)

catowen - what a weird dream. I had a very strange one too last night, though I'm not going to share the details cos it was a bit gross and involved bodily fluids! Sorry FirstClassMale, did I just make you picture your parents having sex again? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: (BTW no it wasn't that sort of dream!)

Hope you all have a lovely day
    Rzl xx

    Hiya everyone

Birthday felicitations to those with birthdays (obviously :)) and welcomes to newbies :D :j :D

I was so busy doing erm... nothing yesterday and didn't get chance to post. DS2 had a full day at pre-school so it was just me and DS1, a rare occurence nowadays. We made baby dinosaur candles, had a cinema time with too many chocs and HM popcorn, then he wanted to iron - so I gave him some tea towels (he's only 6). He says by next week he wants to be doing it all - I wish :D

We also took a trip to the tip en route to collect DS2. I went with lots of recycling and came back with an almost new clam-shell kiddies sand-pit. A chap was just about to skip it when I asked him if I could have it :D Well, waste not want not - and the gerbils love it as a play area and the kids love to get them out and play with them. And, if I actually need a sandpit in the summer, then I have one :D

Had to buy a new printer yesterday but got a fab bargain ( - only problem is that I willhave to pay the over-inflated shop prices for the USB lead as need it today. The shop didn't have one in yestarday so I'll go and get one later. Also have to go to Bury later and pick Mr TM up from his week away.

So, have WM on (DS2 had an accident last night) and another couple after that. Hopefully I'll get it out on the line and dried before I go out. BM needs to go on and will have to think of something for tea, but will see what inspiration hits me whenI open the freezer. Which reminds me - will have to unfreeze the 3 packs of mince that have welded themselves to the freezing shelf. It's making it very difficult to put larger items in :) So, cottage pie sounds likely :D

DS2 has just hoovered downstairs (he's an :A ) I gave it a thorough clean last night whilst watching tv. Need to clean bathroom and shower room and a quick vac upstairs and we should be OK.

So, everyone have a good day and I hope those of you suffering from lack of sleep get more tonight.

    TM xxx
