I'm sat here worrying my socks off now as I've just had to ring the school about a strange man lurking around the school area. I'm really hoping it rains so they have to keep the children in the classrooms. With all the building work going on the playground is a mess and even the children can't find each other let alone the playground ladies keeping an eye on them all now :(
this happened at our primary school a couple of yrs ago.. turned out the man was a estranged dad of a lad at the school and the mother was being a right cow to him and the only wasy he could catch a glimpse of his child was at the school.. he got told off by the police and the school but it turned out all right in the end.

    Morning all! :hello:

P-P yes, do complain about your weekend - as other people have said, you did explain about your wheelchair etc so you didn't expect to get there and find they'd ignored your needs - as Tootles, says it's a shame you didn't complain while you were there though. Sorry you're in a lot of pain today - hope the painkillers help. BTW what does TMA stand for? I presume the A is Assignment!

Frey - glad meeting with HO went well - I hope she is able to sort things out for you!

(((((HUGS))))) to all with sleeping problems

The local chemist was selling the "Food Doctor" diet books yesterday at £1.49 each "to clear", so bought both as we all need to lose weight - if I don't follow the recipes at least I can follow the principles. I do know what we should eat, but OH and I get fed up at being unable to do things and end up eating choccy.... :o so hoping the books will encourage me. I'm seeing a rheumatologist tomorrow and I know he'll say I must lose weight!

OH has just got up and will need the table to have his brekky so I'll pop back on later to catch up - hope you all have a good day even if you're at w**k!

Can I butt in here, first post on this thread.

TMA is Tutor Marked Assignment and CMA is Computer Marked Assignment.

I completed my OU degree about 15 years ago so for all those faced with TMAs commisserations!!!
  • The OU have been excellent and have had an assessment done. Am waiting on software and other aids that will help me get through my degree but it wont be received at my end for another 1-3 weeks. Should I email my tutor and ask?? Shes already been very lenient with me but am having problems with my hands, body etc and everything takes so so much longer IYWKIM.

I would suggest you contact your tutor and I am sure you will be allowed an extension. You could still get on with the reading and the essay plan so that when the aids arrive you will only (ha ha) have to write the thing.

The OU are excellent at making education accessible to everyone. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent studying although I used to get bad tempered and stressed around TMA and exam time.

    What are you studying?

    Morning :hello:

Am at w**k, and boss's boss has shaved off his beard and no longer looks hunky at all, darn it :( (Still, perhaps now I can concentrate on my w**k :p)

Got s0d-all done last night. OK, so I cooked some rice to go with the double portion of casserole I'd defrosted for yesterday's dinner and today's lunch - big bloomin' deal! - but the carrot cake did not get made, nor did the macaroni cheese, and the washing didn't get done so I am down to my last resort - wearing a dry-clean-only pair of work trousers  (Still, my local cleaners do four garments for £6 :D and I need to get my winter coat done, so a couple of extra items will make no difference).

So far this morning I have:
    - Polished off what was left of last weekend's HM banana loaf, in the name of "breakfast" :D
    - Booked some cheapie opera tickets for a couple of shows in July
    - Booked some slightly less cheapie opera tickets for a show in December :o
    - Plotted to book more cheapie opera tickets for various things September to December (although booking doesn't actually open until the week after next).

So I've spent, or planned to spend, a reasonably sizeable wodge of cash this morning. But it is all in the budget so I am not worried :D (also, the Proms Guide comes out on Friday, so I'll have to shell out soon for my season ticket - also in the budget :D - hope it hasn't gone up again. The last few years it's been £160 but that gets me into up to 74 concerts - last year I went to 47, so £3.40 a concert :D)

As you may have noticed, music is basically the only thing I still spend any serious money on... (oh, and wine - must remember to place an order this week :o)

Speaking of which, I must remember to ask my singing teacher about some more freebie tickets when I'm round his place tonight. Keeps me out of mischief :D

Have waffled for far too long (I've been dipping in and out of writing this post while getting my w**k done, hence no single train of thought!) so I will just hope you're all having a nice day and leave you to it :D (((hugs))) to anybody who needs them.

    Rzl xx

    Sixth Anniversary
    Morning everyone

Haad a lovely day yesterday - we went to the local pub for dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary and they had a special on which was roast dinner for £1.99 (bargain!!) and the kids only cost £1.50. It was a lovely meal so its back to reality today as the children have all gone back to school - had to ring the dentist this morning as DD1 says her tooth is hurting so have an appointment for tomorrow.

    B - cereal
    L - sandwiches
D - Roast duck and veggies

Hope everyone has a good day

    Liz xx
