Penny-Pincher!! wrote:OH made a lovely FishPie and there were 3 extra portions which I will have over next 2 days. He put grated cheddar on top and added the peas with the fish and parsley sauce then the mash on top...yummy!!
That sounds lovely! Would your DH mind posting his recipe? I've never made a fish pie before because I've never been brave enough!!!!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Evenin' all
Home from work, managed to extricate myself from the clutches of my boss who is not familiar with the concept of work/life balance  especially when our (enormously energetic) team admin assistant is on holiday for a week and the rest of us have quite enough to do already.
Must get a couple of things done in the kitchen in a mo. Am trying to watch telly, even though the local riff-raff are sitting outside our house tooting their car horns at each other
Michelle - Vicky's right - your savings are looking good! In a weird coincidence, your current total is within a couple of pounds of what mine is going to be by the end of this week! I get paid on Wednesday, and then get my choir money on Sunday - and as it's April, I have to assume that they're going to get my tax code right (which is never a given because of the money they have to deduct for my choir wages  ) - but if they do, I'll be just about on £9,220 too
Vicky - ((((hugs)))) to you and your grandpa.
ivyleaf - I haven't had the haircut yet - it's booked for next Wednesday morning when I'm OFF WORK!!!! :j :j :j It's a Tony & Guy Academy haircut, which means it'll take hours as the student hairdressers have to get clearance from their supervisors every other minute - but for £5, I can't complainAm hoping I might be able to get it coloured while they're at it.
SOMO1 - I thought of you and your George Michael tickets this evening! The new issue of Opera magazine was waiting for me when I got home, and one of the news articles said that a show I've recently obtained tickets for (at vast cost, paid for out of stoozing interest!) sold out within four hours of booking opening - so I feel very fortunate...
I forgot to mention how fabulously well-behaved I was yesterday. I still haven't bought a spring coat, and I went into Debenhams and tried on a beautiful GS By Gharani Strok coat (£90) but DIDN'T BUY IT
Haven't been so well behaved today thoughWent into Lidl for baby leaf spinach and they didn't have any - 5mins later came out with a big bar of coffee cream chocolate in hand and two hours later, there's none left
Not only that, but I then popped into Tesco's for frozen peas (success) and Greek yoghurt (out of stock) but discovered their fab post-Easter reductions on all sweetie egg type things
Came out with 2 six-packs of Creme Eggs (44p per pack) and four bags of Rowntrees "fried eggs" for 27p a bag. I will save the Rowntrees eggs for the summer - at the Proms everybody's always passing sweets round and this will save me a few quid. In fact I think I'm going to go back for more
Now I just have to stop myself eating all those Creme Eggs at once
Hope everybody's having a nice evening

Cha97michelle Glad you found a comfy bra! MY DD2 has had probs as she was a 34D to start with. She managed to find a couple, but I've suggested she gets a couple of nursing bras as they seem to be cheaper and go up to bigger sizes!
i did think that, but DH said not to bother. I've gone up to a 40C from a 36c, and the woman said i could change again. Nursing bras were about the same price and i don't want to keep forking out.
M and S were cheaper than mothercare, and seem a bit more comfy :rotfl:
Oh what bliss after squeezing myself in for the past few weeks. sorry for TMI
BRZL Well done you too with your savings. After our discussion the other week i decided to just get my backside in gear and get on with it. I can save, but i am also very good at spending. Plus, it helps that i 'manage' mine and DH's incomes, so as long as i make sure he has enough for his tax bill he just lets me get on.
I think it's made a difference saying, well that is my minimum target by maternity leave, and then thinking that my quality of life will be much better if i beat it.I can do about £600 per bad month, and £1000 plus on a good month. I will keep on scrimping. Look for another bounce soon as I will get end of month interest and i've just transferred another £450 as DH cashed in his overtime. Better in our savings than in his boss's account like he would do with it. It's so much easier being a couple, and also being up north. I don't know how you do it at London prices as every trip down cripples us for that month.
PP i thought year 6 sats were the week after? I'm sure your DD will do well after getting into the Grammar school anyway.

I could also volunteer. I'm rapidly becoming 'egg shaped'. I realised today that my bump is the same size as my friend at work. Only she is 2 months further on, and is actually a bump, and i think mine is just fat.
The woman who did my bra fitting pointed out my back fat. I'm ready to hang up the chocolate now before the stretch marks appear. :rotfl:
I'm so glad i'm not vain0 -

Morning Peeps!
It's 03.34 am as I start this message. Someone hit me over the head and make me sleep PLEASE!!!! I've had a couple of hours kip but could do without these night time interruptions. Blah blah blah broken record....
Penny Pincher, I'm sorry to hear about your holiday being a bit naff. I think I would have kicked up a bit of a fuss regards the suitability of it for you, especially when you had asked that specific question. It doesn't really matter if was a special offer, they weren't straight with you.
Has anybody heard from Curry_Queen lately? It's been ages since she said hello (unless I've missed some posts). What ever happened to that nice young Graham chappie who was posting here a while back - did we scare him off do you think?
Have to go to w*** later, don't want to go! It's a boring training day, some new system or other than I have to learn otherwise the building will collapse and the company will go out of business and the sky will fall down if I don't learn it - or so management seem to think anyway. I've also got a hospital appointment which I am dreading - he'll probably look into taking me off my anti-d as I am feeling an awful lot better emotionally. I will tell him about my rubbish sleeping patterns - this might be a symptom of underlying depression/anxiety still hanging around though with the more overt symptoms being suppressed by the anti-d.
There is nothing else to tell you - well it is almost four in the morning - even at four in the afternoon I'm usually hard pushed for some news.
Cheerio, have a wonderful Tuesday.
