Good afternoon everyone.
got up at 6 because i felt restless.
sorted out washing, gave hens a snack, did kids lunches, dd made lovely brownies last night.
Got HUGE bottle of posh washing up liquid from the corner shop for 49p:)
UN written my shopping list, having a student poverty menu week in memory of my student days, and bcos ds1 said he wants to go to uni because of the long holidays!
We have baked bean curry today, which is bubbling away nicely in the SC.
Well, I may have mine later. Im off to a 'stylish, urban professional networking event' so I am trying to get my head into stylish urban professional outfit mode. Free champagne and canapés! Ave it!
This morning played dodgeball with some local women in a community centre. I am doing voluntary work which will make exercise more accessible for people it was difficult for previously. great fun.
Done a bit of work but I think I am going to have to start dressing 'for the office' even tho I work from home.
OMG is that the time - got to fetch kids, have cup of tea and a brownie, then dd is off to a friend's for tea. (phew - she would not go for the curry, and im not doing naan bread today!)
I expect I will toddle back later a bit merry and do a bit more folding of clothes, get kids uniforms ready for the morning...
at the weekend was with a group of friends and they all said how much housework their OH's do, but they are all couples who both work full time. My OH has to travel 1hr each way every day, so I dont really expect him to do loads, I dont think it would be fair, in fact hes more of the DIY bod, fixing, painting, sorting out gutters, waterbutts, chickens etc. Am I too old-fashioned OS!?! :rolleyes:Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
I have done reading too!

afternoon everyone!
I have returned from shop with a new belt and stylus on my turntable and its now back working! !!! yipee - it is now playing my most embarrassing 7" singles:o but it has bought such joy to my face hearing my music again! :j
Had a look in a couple of charity shops aswell, didnt find any pigs - I would also like to get one of those China Hens (that you put your eggs in?) where do you get them? stupid i know but i just fancy one.
Had a great laugh at the LP's though, Sacha Distell, Des O'Connor, and those Top of the Pops LP's that everyone seemed own!! ha ha
Happy Birthday to Black Saturn!!! - that malt loaf of yours is delish!0 -
afternoon all
hoping to get into garden soon as its quite a nice day, been over to library for some books to read sitting out in the fine evenings if we get any. on the way there came upon a broken beer bottle, all jagged glass, and for sure thats just where a wee one would fall so i got a bag and picked it up on the way home, i wouldnt have been seen dead doing that when i was younger but its funny how you couldnt care less what people think when you get older, well me anyway.
snowy owl and skystar - you should give lavender oil a try it really does work, just a couple of drops on your pillow or a tissue, tisserand is best from tesco £4 but it lasts ages and i find it calms me down if i have anything stressful during the day.
nutty - sorry you were feeling so sad today, dont listen to anyone, four months is no time at all, in fact the first year is the worst, i am here if you need someone to listen anytime
moggins - our school doors are all locked now with codes to get in, but of course the playground is a different matter. you cant be too careful these days
just boil in the bag kippers for me tonight with some veg and a baked potato, just me so i can eat what i like, sometimes think the cats are better fed...lol
hope all is well with everyone, bye for now0 -
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLACK SATURN AND LITTLE MISS GLAD
Shez, yes we have had our fix of Dora the Explorer today, and made sure swipper didnt do any swipping!!!!
Wishing Squeeky all the best, and hope he continues to pop back to OS occasionally!!!!
Well, havent done much today, went to Asda and spent more than i was planning too, mind you, my cupboards are well stocked up now although its all the fruit and veg that i bought that cost the most!!! Didnt get a freeview box yet, but i am thinking about it.
Having an early dinner tonight (chicken stew and dumplings in the SC at the moment), as DS has football at 6, mind you i wont be eating until the last childminding one goes, which will be about 5.15, but DS needs to eat at least an hour before football, so he will have his in a minute.
Thats about it today, been a bit lazy, but only having one little one weve been doing lots of things together, so thats good!!!!
Hope everyone has a good evening
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Hello all :hello:
Happy Birthday black saturn! :bdaycake:
I've also been in that awful place called w**k. Well, it was terrible today because my Year 6 class have suddenly got very !!!!!y and hormonal. Ah well...... tomorrow is another day and hopefully they'll be a little better!
I came home from w**k via Asda. I had to get my dad a birthday card for Friday............. Anyway, their yellow stickers had gone crazy! There was so much on offer - it was brilliant! I've got four tubs of soup for 45p each, a quiche for 70p, two lots of turkey stir-fry strips for £1.18 per pack (it'll do us four meals), ooooh pitta breads for 10p per pack, 6 bread rolls 10p per pack....... Heaven! What I forgot to get was MILK! Anyway, this and what we've got here will do us until the middle of next week so we won't actually need to do a "big shop". :j :j :j
I need to send OH to get my car tax tomorrow. It's not going to hurt as I've been putting a little aside each week so I'm ready. Last year I wasn't, so I really learnt my lesson!
I've decided that I need to do loads more exercise. I got my skipping rope out today as apparently 10mins of skipping is the equivalent of 40mins of jogging. Needless to say, I was exhausted after 2mins - plus I can't skip! More tomorrow - or later, depending on how brave I'm feeling.

Evening all.
Phew! Since I got in from w**k I've tided the flat, put a load of washing on, done two loads of washing up and put dinner on - HM sausage casserole with oregano dumplings.
Time for some relaxing internet time now I think!
Oh, and Happy Birthday Black Saturn, your fruit cobbler is a favourite in my house!

Hello :j
Happy Birthday Black Saturn. Seems like there are an awful lot of us with birthdays around now.
sorry to hear you are still not well johanne. Take it easy.
What have i missed about Squeaky???? he will be missed. Although i'm sure we'll still hear from him.
I had a rubbish day at work. 2 people were off sick again, so lots of running around. I also had an observation of one of my lessons. It didn't go well as i lost more than half the lesson because they had a special assembly. I won't get any proper feedback until thursday, and i'm likely to stress about it till then. I then had free time for the rest of the day, but because i got worked up, i ended up getting nothing constructive done, so need to do it now.
I have been useful and got 2 loads through the WM since getting in. DH has promised me he will cook tea tonight.
Tomorrow is likely to be busy. I have 3 lessons, but i also have to cope with a councilling appointment in the middle of the day. I'm wishing now that i had just booked the whole day off work. I am really counting down the days until maternity leave. Thank god for the bank holiday next week is all i can say.
I'm going to continue with the school work. Think of me buried beneath a pile of paper. :rotfl:

Hello everyone
Well, I managed another couple of hours kip this morning...so I suppose I had about five hours but with a two hour gap in the middle. Better than nothing!
W*** today was a mare - silly training course, half of it irrelevant, both halves totally boring. The lunch was nice - sandwiches, fried chicken, sausages - and I had a lot of coffee too to keep my peepers open.
The hospital appointment went OK. I got some additional tablets - these are to help with sleeping - and he said it's ok to just use them once or twice a week if I am uncomfortable using them every night. I have been using lavender oil, camomile tea and what have you - though I do appreciate your advice anyway Twink - while I can get to sleep I find it v.hard to stay asleep. This has been going on for a couple of years now and I think I have exhausted (no pun intended!) most of the non-chemical sleep remedies there are....most get me off to sleep but only for about two or three hours then I'm awake again.
Did I mention anything about an essay? Urm, got one handed in last night - I was glad to kiss that one goodbye. Just one more torturous history one to do this evening. I am so flipping tired though! I will have to get on with it, have no choice in the matter as it's due in tomorrow.
Bargain Rzl...shame about Mr Boss Man shaving his hunky designer stubble off to reveal his very ordinary and not worth a second look bloke image. Maybe it will improve your concentration level? Is your Ms Boss Woman still on the other side of the Big Pond? Perhaps she'll lose her ticket or something and never come back?
OK, enough waffle - have to devote my powers of composition to my history essay. See you all tomorrow...except Squeaky...
