I know exactly what you mean you do your best and people are rude and stroppy .I still have to get a neg, but that hasn't stopped my stress about all those NPB's , lost in the posts etc. My son wants me to give up, because he says it gets me all upset, but we need the money.0

shelly wrote:Totally agree with that. Hubby always leaves justified f/b be it pos, neut or neg. If they neg in retaliation then a calm factual reply comes across much better than their hasty retalitory (sp?) neg and makes them look like exactly what they are.....bad e-bayers.
I agree, Feedback is to let other sellers and buyers be aware of a genuine seller or buyer.
But it is so annoying when bad feedback is left for such a ridiculous reason.
I feel better now I have vented and heard your vents too.
Thanks0 -
I never leave feedback first. It is something you learn after hundreds of sales. You sell something 100% as described, leave them good feedback, and then a small minority will screw you over because they imagined they were buying something else or they just don't care about your feedback. It is only a tiny minority but it will happen.
Now, I send a receipt with a message which includes something like, 'Please leave me feedback to let me know you have safely received your item and I will respond in kind'. A tiny minority will not leave feedback first, I suspect the same people who casually leave unjustified negative feedback.
Finally, I always leave negative feedback for the idiots. They will always retaliate if they can but this is the only way Ebay weeds these people out. When you first get negative feedback it bothers you but you soon realise poeple know there are idiots out there and it is doesn't effect your sales. So long as your feedback is good overall people understand, they often have experienced these idiots themselves. It is best just to respond to negative feedback with the facts. Think about what you will write because you are limited in words, but this effective in warning people about the idiots.0 -
Im now in a quandry - i bought two items from someone in the mistaken belief they would combine postage - which i found they didnt - my mistake for not finding the item earlier and emailing them
but it arrived and out of the 5 quid i paid, they had spent a quid
now i want to leave feedback saying the items are fine but they dont combine postage
but ive been checking their feedback and they neg every person who doesnt say they are excellent - so im stuckSee the stars they’re shining brightEverything’s alright tonight0 -
They dont have to combine postage unless stated (may have been pre-packed etc) , but the parcels should have been sent separately which is what you paid for.
If they dont respond to you, complain to paypal that one of the item didnt arrive.

Well Ive just received my first negative after 1386 positives and I was really upset last night when I saw it (was on my way to bed, thought I'd list some stuff, ended up not listing ANYTHING as so traumatised!).
It was from a seller believe it or not. I bought a dress from her described as in excellent as new condition, worn once. It came with stains all over the place. I sent it back after checking she would refund. She said the dress wasnt stained but said she'd take it back. I got a cheque back from her that didnt include initial postage cost which was only 1.60. I emailed her asking her why she hadnt included that just out of principle and i get this negative feedback:
"This ebayer wants something for nothing. Please don't bid on my items again"
The cow!!!
I sent her 10 messages asking her to withdraw. Still havent heard anything. I've threatened to call her but no joy. I know she's read them as I got my sister to ask a question about one of her items and she responded within a minute!
Now my question is that she has 54 feedback all positive except my one negative - how come she still has 100% feedback and i have 99.9%??0 -

wasnt prepacked - they were very poor wrapped, and the wrapper had been torn but not enough to damage the contents
thing is no matter how annoyed i am (partly my fault as i explained before), i dont believe in making false claims (karma you see)See the stars they’re shining brightEverything’s alright tonight0 -
Get on with it. Everybody will eventually get their first neg.
It doesnt stop people buying from you if you leave a comment under the negative stating the situation.
In fact i like to see somebody with a negative who has maturely explained the negative with a comment. It makes the seller seem "real" if you know what im saying.
I recieved my first neg around the 550 + 100% feedback mark. I was gutted at first. I had done nothing wrong, the guy decided he didnt want it and negged me before contacting me. However my sales since have not been effected at all.:j Midmac Aka Crazy baby :j0 -
I agree. I had a French buyer neg me (after about 700+ feedback of 100%) who didn't even bother to contact me for a refund (and after i'd left positive). No response to removal of feedback so I just responded to feedback with "Buyer did not even contact me for a refund before leaving feedback."
Initially I was gutted when I saw the feedback but as Midmac says, just get on with it and let people make their own mind up after reading your response to any negs left.0 -

I think it may be the feedback % takes a day or so to update. Check back in a couple of days. Now my question is that she has 54 feedback all positive except my one negative - how come she still has 100% feedback and i have 99.9%??0
