  • Well just thought I would do a quick update before i go full steam into cleaning the house.

Lloyds loan is closed!!!!:j:D:T Logged on today and it is now not showing on the account homepage either wahey!! awesome!! Thats £105.75 a month less to find!!

Total paid off debts so far £4240.41 / £56606.07 - 7.49% I am happy with this progress...baby steps but at least we are getting there.

Am chipping away nicely at the old Virgin card and intend to keep doing so for the forseeable future. Am hoping to get rid of it by the end of the summer if possible but we shall see.

Have started religiously making a note of spending.... so i think that will help.

Yesterday was a no spend day.. today however has seen me spend £61.00 and none of it was towards debt...although i did manage to pay £5.60 to the virgin card. I am going to try and start making a payment a day...I did this when I first started on here and it worked well so im going to try and be good...even if its only a £1.

Anyway best get on with the cleaning.

    Hi

Well done on clearing the loan, that is fantastic. It feels great doesn't it?

I have paid off 4 of my cards now too, got my Endowment money on Friday so paid them off, unfortunately my Nationwide just generated the statement so have to pay another £64.21 which they have added on as interest for the last month, it should come out of my bank tomorrow and then that will be clear.

My main one to concentrate on now is A&L (MBNA), rang them up and the interest rate is 23.9% so that has to go ASAP, am hoping to get a decent balance transfer offer from one of the cards I've paid off.

Just paid £500 into my ISA for this tax year, it only has £2 in it, the amount I opened it with as I've not had any money to put in, so now I only have about £900 left of my £10,474. It feels great to pay it off and know that I won't be getting 4 lots of interest and having to make those 4 payments.

Got my £100 Iceland vouchers that I won in this months draw so that is a bonus too.

My total debt is £20,400 now, still a lot but it feels more manageable and is great that it won't be going up as fast every month with the interest.

Have fun with the cleaning, I need to get on and do some but have to take OH to work again soon as his car failed the MOT and the garage didn't fix all the problems so it has to go back to the garage tomorrow.

Great news about the loan being finished with - well done. Enjoy the cleaning - some days I do and some I don't. There are times when I am a bit fed up at work and I would do anything to pop home and clean the windows or put some washing on... how mad is that but if I was here all the time, I think I would go potty. Different when I was a SAHM but now they are older it is not the same to be at home full time.

That is a great payment to the credit card. I've been doing PAD's to my MBNA card.

I haven't been doing my Personal Ebay account am concentrating on my Business one at the moment, had 14 parcels to post today, took an hour to wrap them up, at least OH is off this week so was able to see to the kids. We are going to visit my Nan on Thursday, she is 93, she has a DVT in her leg which they are not treating as my Uncle thought it kinder to just leave her, she has gone blind in one eye and needs Carers to help her get up, she will be so excited that we are going as she said to my dad she'd like to see the girls and I want to see her and take the girls just in case anything happens to her soon, she's losing the will to live I think, my girls are her only great grandchildren. It is a 3 hours journey (longer with having to stop to let the kids have a run around) and my Nan doesn't get up til the afternoons so we can take a leasurely driver there.

Hope you had a good Easter!

Well i realise i make too many plans and then they dont happen. One being reduce the overdraft by £500 in April....although i have the money aside i really dont want to part with it just yet. So today my new outlook is to not make too many plans. Im going to stick with the virgin card though as that is now coming down nicely! Still a long way to go but im confident it will be gone by the end of the year at the latest...freeing up lots of money for the next card to be gone!!

Yesterday turned into a good day....paid £285.83 to cc cards (2 of them), of which £129.74 was minimum payments, so overpayed a total of £156.09!! good going i think!!

So the rest of the month is now back to saving a lump some...as much as possible - hopefully £200. Then we can decide what to do with it later.

Todays plan.....clean, clean, clean. And whilst cleaning put aside anything I think may sell on ebay!.

Good news is....we are now back under £50,000!! Woo Woo.

    Hi

Well done on the payments yesterday. I know what you mean about not wanting to part with the money, nearly all my money has gone now just got to pay my car insurance premium for the next year and won't have much left.

Good luck with the cleaning, I need to sort out all the clothes today and have a sort out of all the toys, place needs a good clean too. We are going to visit my Nan tomorrow and are staying out over night as it's a 3 hour journey, don't think the kids would like sitting in a car for over 6 hours in one day.

    Have a good day.

Its a long time 3 hours....but im sure they will find things to entertain themselves....counting the colour cars used to be a fave of ours when we were small lol!! soon passed the time. Nice to have an evening away aswell.....6 hours in a car would not be good.

Have just finished giving the living rooma good clean...has taken an hour but now i know every piece is cleaned down!!

time to do the kitchen then i can have some lunch.
Want to get it all done so i can get on to budget lol.
car insurance also due soon so should start shopping around for some prices.

Wow, I haven't even started tidying up yet. Got to go and get some more padded envelopes for Ebay stuff (post office shuts at lunchtime today so they'll have to go tomorrow now). Need to get a charger for my Sat Nav I bought the other day just in case we get lost tomorrow.

Will check back later when I've got some sorting out done.
