I realise I have posted my question incorrectly and should have asked you why Asda Reward Card 0% one year balance transfer have refused to transfer from our Egg Card. We were accepted for the card and said they (Santander) were having IT problems with transferring Egg balances, we have tried 4 time since and still they will not do it and seem not to know why. Egg have even given us their sort code and account number to transfer into but Asda still say no. any answers for us on this please.0

Hello Diary!!
Just a quick update as to where we are at!! fast approaching loan repayment dates so very excited as the debt will reduce once again by approx £850 once everything has been paid. That will take us under the 50k limit again!!! wahey...feel better being under 50k!!
Was a horrible admitting the OD and the business loan to our debts as i was nicely convincing myself that the figure was falling. But im back there now and i can see it falling again!!
Viallis - not sure you meant to post your question here, but i can see there is a lot of talk on the CC forum about asda and egg so hope all that answers you question.
So today is just a pottering about day. Had an email from Scottish power to say they were increasing our monthly DD by £17...not a happy bunny....the account is in debit by £80....which after the winter is to be expected!! hey ho looking on the bright side a least we will be lots in credit by the end of the summer!! And if they wont give us a cheque for that amount i shall switch provider so that they have to release the money to us. Its made me more aware also of switching the lights off etc and not leaving the comp on all day, putting the heating off if we dont need it on. So maybe a blessing in disguise??? I will get our usage down!!
Have decided the Virgin card definitely needs beating so am now popping all loose change onto it.....its not much but every little helps....so far i've paid an extra £17.61 off it this month.
The saving pot money is going good aswell....have £180.00 in that and should be £200 by the end of the week. Also have items finishing on ebay today and tomorrow so hoping to have maybe £100 in my paypal account to transfer. AND sold a book on greenmet yesterday too so there's a bit more. Think i will split the total and put half into the saving pot and half off the Virgin card.
Then i think its a week off ebay for me....and will list some more next week. Saying that its very addictive so who knows!
DD turned 2 last week, so we overspent on our budget by about £100....presents and food etc, hoping to make it back with OH overtime this week and next!! we shall see. Otherwise it may have to come out of the savings pot .... but at least its there should we need it!!
Loving the weather...lots of clothes on the washing line rather than the horrid tumble dryer all day!
Anyway back soon.

Hi there
Glad things are going well. How lovely that your daughter is 2. My DD3 is 2 in May, have no idea what to get her, what did you buy for your DD?
It is such a lovely day today, must also start hanging washing out, have a headache coming which is a pain, am on tablets for them but ran out and haven't been to collect the next prescription, must do it tomorrow.
Have a good day.

Hello.
TMD - DD had a few things. we got her a hoover and ironing board, and she had other bits and bobs from family.
So today the postman came.....and with him a lovely letter from Lloyds TSB.....just saying what we already know...the final payment of £79.02 will be taken from our account on 28 March and then the laon will be closed!! hurray!!! That then leaves us with 4 loans and 7 credit cards!! and £105.75 potentially to spend elsewhere!!
Sold a few items on ebay so have transferred £55 from paypal to bank . Am not sure whether to put it onto a CC or to put it in the saving pot for now...we shall see.
So all is good in the world today.
If anyone is reading this and worrying about debts then please dont let it worry you too much. The total figure of our debt is not good but i know in a fews years if not sooner it will be gone. :j I can not wait for this day....their will be a HUGE celebration in this house....MSE style of course.
Anyway off to look at some figures now and see how the debt busting is going. Should really list some more on ebay but going to give myself a few days off ebay i think!!

Well another day gone!!
No debt busting today, other than the usual scratchcard of 10p!! payday tomorrow though so will be adding funds to the saving pot.
Talking to OH just now and we are planning on reducing our Overdraft by £500 in April. Currently the overdraft we have is £3500 and although not right up to the limit we are close. Want to get out of it a soon as we can so going to make a start by reducing that to £3000. Then hopefully again in July by another £500.
Alongside paying towards the other debts. Do-able so long as we stick to the plan. The overdraft is up for review in august adn although i dont feel they will pull it from us i would like to be able to see that come down and live on the other side of it one day.
So thats the latest plan. Gosh I feel like my "plans" change all the time, but i guess it keeps me motivated and month by month i can see where better to money!!

Hi there
Sorry didn't reply sooner but have had a migraine for over 24 hours, it's starting to go now but still slightly there. Got my prescription for my tablets that I have to take one at night this is to stop me getting headaches but I ran out a few days ago and didn't get the prescription but at least I know now that I'll be OK as long as I take them.
Glad you are able to reduce your overdraft, even a bit at a time is a help. I haven't done much debt busting either, still waiting to hear about my money from my Endowment, was hoping I'll get a cheque by the end of this week but might be next week, not sure whether to ring them up and see how things are going.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
i'm a very tired lady today. DD is playing naughty and so wearing me out.
She is asleep now so i have been looking at my figures. If we can manage to save £3500 by the end of the year we will be able to close another 3 loans, leaving us with only one and free up another £310...this would be fab as at the mo we dont have too much available to shoot at the CC debt. With a few loans out of the way we can then make 2011 the year of the CC's!!! And fire at the left right and centre. The plan is to also have got a chunk of the virgin cc gone if not all of it...that is work in progress at the minute....i've now included that in my sig to keep me motivated!!
Think i need a few more coffees in me today..feels like a very long day. Thought it was going to be sunny so did some washing only for it to rain...im refusing to put it in the tumble dryer!! Think i should invest in a clothes made maybe then it can air in the spare room.
Not much going on other than that, feel a naughty wine night coming on!! I know i shouldnt and its better spent on the virgin cc but i dont think i can help myself.
Hope DH isnt home too late from work!! need some company!! Also hope dd sleeps for 3 hours he he :rotfl:
right best do some cleaning!!0 -
Hi
My DD is asleep too, she has a cold though so keeps coughing, her nose is blocked too so I've got some Olbas Oil on a tissue on top of her blanket (so far so good - touch wood!!)
I'm waiting for my money still and then can work out my plan of action for paying off the rest, hopefully will get it next week.
It's a free listing weekend this weekend for Private sellers, just working my way through some stuff now.
Hope your daughter sleeps for a while, can you have a sleep too? I don't tend to nap in the afternoon in case I don't wake up in time to pick the kids up.
Hope you have a nice wine evening and hope you have a good weekend. OH is working unfortunately so just me and the 3 kiddies, one has a party tomorrow from 5.30-7.30 at McDonalds (bit late for a 4 year old but I'm sure she'll enjoy it), just hope she doesn't cry when I have to leave her otherwise me and the other 2 will have to hang around. DD1 has a party on Sunday lunch time at Pizza Hut but she'll be OK on her own.
Bye for now.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
Hi
How's things?
I am OK, paid my cheque into the bank yesterday so that will clear on Friday then I can pay some bills, I'm assuming it's OK to pay out thousands of pounds via internet banking!!
Also today I had a phone call from Iceland, they said I won the monthly competition so are sending me £100 in vouchers, can't believe I won, thought it was a waste of time swiping my card everytime I went in as I was sure I'd never win and a couple of times I couldn't be bothered to get it out of my purse so am pleased I won something.
Hope you are OK.

Hello!
Not been on for a week as not much to report...although i have logged on to read the forum a little bit.
As i say not much to report....min payments on all loans go out on monday :j. Was touch and go this week as to whether we would have enough money after overspending on DD birthday but we have so sigh of relief. Saying that technically its a lie as i have put money into savings account this week but didnt want to have to take it back out.
So my thoughts now are focussed on an extra £500 we are expecting in next week.....do i a) pay it off a CC and see the min payment fall by just a few pounds or (b) pay the year of water rates up front and therefore save £46 a month and reduce our monthly bills should we have a bad month....with the view to paying the £46 off something else each month if al is well??
Things are looking better on the old SOA really....we have gone from just scraping through each month to now having breathing space of £400ish pounds (of which food needs to be taken out of).
That time of year where the pets need their annual boosters, so one is booked in next week and the other will be a few weeks later....that way its not a huge amount at the same time...plus they are 1 month apart when it comes to their boosters so best not to waste one month of immunity on the other one!!
My Evil Virgin Challenge is going slowly...but better than not going at all...have paid an extra £41.39 off it since the 10.03.10. Slowly but surely. Every little helps ey!!
Was going to do a food shop today but will wait until tomorrow i think. Going to make use of what we have :-) I have noticed a shift in our food spending which is good.....we seem to be spending on average £35 a week rather than £50plus. I even think we could do better!! Have finally convinced OH to try the 9p noodles.....and guess what...he loves them!! RESULT.
Anyway of I pop.
