I got my bonus paid within 5 days of my second £1k going in, well pleased as it meant I didn't need to chase it! The only time I had to do any work was when I didn't receive my forms to sign and return. Glad I got the account as I've been using it for Easyjet bookings too so saved myself charges for using debit or credit cards as they don't charge for using electron - planning on keeping it open with a zero balance purely for this.
2p off is still 2p off!
  • Barclays received my second payment on Monday and they credited the £100 on same day !! Thanks Martin. No problems with account set-up.
  • Received my £100 yesterday. Thanks Martin. Have earnt 3p interest to date. On another positive note having this account allowed me to open a Barclaycard card account with no fee on balance transfers over 10 months (best buy mentioned by Martin here a month ago). This is now in active. I am using it to buy a £2k LDC flat screen TV. I have the cash but by using the free balance transfer and paying off the Barclaycard at £250 pm I will make over £50 interest in my Lloyds bank select account. It just gets better and better. Thanks again for the info. Keep it coming.
  • Received credit of £100 today. Thanks for the tip.

Moved it to my Alliance and Leicester current account which pays 5%.

Yo! Thanks to Martin's weekly email I remembered to go & transfer my free £100 from Barclays back to my usual account. Had no probelsm setting upthe account did it all via the web even paying in the £1000 and whipping it out again pronto! The £100 will be the first payment into my 2006/2007 Cash Mini ISA. :j

What's the phone number to ring to chase this up then?

    Sorry - forget that! :rotfl:

One of my mates applied after me, deposited his second £1000 and got his £1000 3 days later, I'm still waiting for mine after depositing my second £1000 at the start of march.

The process seems to be totally random!

Not according to their own T & C's.
"The new customer's account will be credited with £100 WITHIN (my capitals) 28 days of the second monthly payment of £1000 or more being paid into the new account."
