UK Mobile Phone Directory
From early next week all UK mobiles will be on a directory which will mean that anyone will be able to access the numbers.
It is easy to unsubscribe but it must be done as soon as possible. You could be swamped by unsolicited messages and calls.
The Directory of Mobile Phone numbers goes live next week. There are two ways to remove your number.
1. Text the letter ‘E’ to 118800 from the mobile phone you want to be made ex-directory. Standard network charges apply.
2. Go to the Homepage http://www.118800.co.uk/service-unavailable.html and the Ex-Directory link is along the top of the page.
You then need to enter your mobile phone number, they then text you a 5 digit code which you then have to enter into the website to complete the process.
after u text the letter E do you get a confirmation from them or is that simply done?0 -

No idea, but honestly I wouldn`t bother with them.
They may not have your number but they will if you waste money on a text to them.
I`ve decided to do nothing,if some idiot wants to pay £1 to have their details texted to me,which I`ll just ignor,then let them.
As long as it`s not costing me owt,let them get on with it.
Service suspended now!

There is now a PM Petition to get this site/service closed down, I searched the forum and couldn't find any reference to it, as a new user, it wont let me post the whole link

We undersign that a new directory service should be aborted before it has been fully launched. This service is an infrignment of our privacy under the data potection act. Anybody within the company has access to the numbers and can give out the number to anybody, We therefor request the government to closedown operation 118800.
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Better close down any company that produces any kind of directory or holds any form of database then.0
