Hi, first time posting...have just got back from holiday and realised I really need to lose some weight! Having had a conversation with my mum, in which she admitted I was a bit bigger....having her say that made me realise how bad the situation was as she always underplays stuff like that!

Currently 210lb...hoping to kickstart with losing 5lb this month, aiming to get back into a healthy weight for my height (5'10")

Turning into a chocolate fiend. Had a box of yoummy chocs in my car to take to a friend later in the week, but they's got a bit melted and mangled so I thought I'd have a couple...and we all know what happened next. Luckily before I cleared te whole box I managed to chuck the remaining ones in the bin but I think a lot of exercise will be required to undo the damage! And I can't exercise tonight cos I'm on duty.

ok, so things didnt go quite to plan. Im a carer for my mom part time so when i finish work i go to hers everyday and then go home. left work at five and planned to leave moms at half six to get to SW for 6.45........... At 7pm im still cooking her dinner. :(

Not very good. There is another one today but to be honest i am constantly on the go and dont think I can commit to getting to the group at that time. Ive had a look and thats the latest class they do in my area. Think im going to join online and see how it goes.

Does anyone know how much more it costs to join online than it does to go to a group?

  • Well despite the brand new suit in a smaller size for the interview and the 1.5 lb loss this week I didn't get the job...I'm gutted :( I am fighting the urge to cheer myself up with hoards of cake and chocolate and instead bought myself 3 new nail varnishes!

More777 - SW group is £4.50 a week and £10 joining fee but I got half price joining fee and I buy a 'countdown' so I get every 6th week free.

hi all, my eating has totally gone to pot now as my grandad died on sunday - it was all very sad and now we're dealing with the aftermath, but overall we were lucky with him. Throughout the alzheimers he never lost his sense of who he was, and more importantly, who we were. I'm drawing a line under it all and weighing fresh next weds once everything is over and in the meantime gradually weaning myself back from stupid eating.

reassessing a few things now too - I've realsied that i am completely running myself into the ground and just doing too much. I may have to shut down my business, or pass it to someone else. I started it when my day job was unfulfilling, undemanding and dull. Now I have another job that ticks all the boxes, and doorstep deli is at a stage where it needs more time and a boost to take it to the next level - i simply don't have the time; and I don't want to give up my re-enacting. However, my mum pointed out that i just don't ever stop or rest, and still feel overwhelmed and pressured. OH is away pretty much wed pm to mon pm every week now, and can't really support me with the home stuff as he can barely get through his workload as it is. sorry about hte essay!

LOL vix - not my scene at 18 let alone now, so never been my field of expertise. As for grapevine - I suspect it may be partly what you are into. I seem to mainly know about the gay nightclubs - probably beacuse only my gay friends are into clubbing. You could try googling to see what sort of music/scene each one is?

kpc - really glad you have come to realise this kpc - you are not the first to wear yourself out, but what is great is tht you have realised this before your health went too far down the pan:T. Yes, sounds like you are doing way too much now and something has to give. It's great your new job ticks all the boxes:j so giving up door stop deli sounds the way to go. And if you love the re-enacting, sounds good to hang on to that. It is so not worth living a life of stree and pressure. I constantly need to reevaluate how I spend my time and energy to make sure I am doing what I love as much as possible and not getting caught in habits of doing things that no longer meet my needs, even if they did once.
Oh, and I am so sorry to hear about your grandad xx
