Victory - that's great news! My dad had a triple bypass about 2 years ago, when he was a month or so shy of his 80th birthday, and it has, by all accounts, given him a far better quality of life. Only a few weeks now, and he'll be having that op to help him. I'm sure your mum and he are very relieved, and I'm sure you are too, because you can now come home! At least you were there when you were needed.
Kimono - whilst you may not see the biggest losses coming each week, you will be seeing big changes in your body if you are controlling your diet, and exercising at the same time. I have to say that once I get into the swing of watching my food intake, and upping my exercise, the weight consistently comes off. The exercise will also increase your fitness levels, giving you more energy, and it also increases your metabolism (for up to 24hrs after you've exercised). Take your measurements, and then measure yourself again in a month, and I bet you'll be really surprised how much the exercise can affect your body. Your waist will slim quicker, legs and arms tone, and you generally feel better about yourself. You also get the benefit of all those endorphins after a workout.
Well, I'm packing for our holiday today. I did more decorating yesterday, but I felt so wretched by the end of the day, that I was convinced I was getting swine flu! Sticking with taking things easier before our hols. We have a long drive down to Cornwall, and this week we discovered our in-car DVD player was broken! urgh! yesterday I went and bought a new one from Argos, but when I plugged it in to test it, it won't work, so I've got to take it back today. Glad I did test it though. I'm going to try to plan ahead for meals, as we have self-catering accom. and take a fair amount with us. I've already got our cereals, pasta, sauces, etc., and then we'll eat out a couple of evenings. It's my youngest's birthday while we're away, but haven't got him hardly any gifts, so off to resolve that now too. I think we'll leave early Saturday, and break the journey with a stop-off at Stonehenge for a couple of hours.
Right, lots to do. Think slim guys! One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Kimonokawaii please try not to be demotivated that others are losing weight faster
All that matters is that you are moving towards your target! Some people will always be faster, some slower, but getting there is what counts!
Do you have any specific fitness & exercise targets? These could help, as it would be a separate set of achievements to take pride in. It is great to be able to say "I lost 1lb this week, AND walked a new longest distance..." or whatever
Sary, hope you have a wonderful holiday, when are you off?
Congrats to everyone who is pleased with their result this week!0 -
funny how there was going to be a relative follow me and then another and now they all seem to be unavailable
It was such a great plan in theory, but it requires everyone to hold up their end of the bargain. You did your bit though so you should feel good about that, its obvious you have helped your mum but remember, no guilt when you go home to your kids!
Had a good sleep last night so feeling better and going to dive into a bowl of cereal now. Have a good one all. Oh and welcome newbies!0 -

Thanks Missy - I have been concentrating on my cycling in the gym lately. I've been doing the 'Kilamanjaro' setting for 15 mions at level 6...I went up a level and bumped it to 20 mins and now I've switched to 'Around The World' setting I did 15 mins on level 7 last night...I'm gonna go for 20 mins next :j I get bored really easily so gym's are great for me as there's always something else I can do if one machine gets dull!
Although....who needs exercise when you have Sary's to do list???!!Comp wins 2014: £30 Gu Pud Vouchers0 -

Well done on the will power and resistance VANYA!
Dinner tonight is a nice cheat! Not my usual everyday butchers but there is a good one that is very modern and sells "ready meals" in the form of marinated meats, stirfrys, red onion mash, chilli new potatoes etc. You pick what you want and then they put it in a heat sealed container that they write on how to cook! I chose marinated ribs and chilli new potatoes, so the extent of my cooking is stab plastic, stick in oven, serve with salad! Loads of ribs and potatoes for £6.50, obviously can be done cheaper but always good quality meat there and beats actual pre packaged food or a takeaway so all good.0 -
