Morning all, I am 1.1lb loss this week, however probably put it all back on yesterday as had an absolutely dreadful day and feel really down for eating such crap....ahhh well think its best to just forget it and move on and hope today is a better day!
Victory : hope all goes well today
Jenny (Vanya): Welcome...you couldn't have come to a better place, everyone here is so encouraging and friendly and I know its definitely helping me
KPC: I would go see a doc, thats how my chronic fatigue started and I have been like that for a year now and only just had it diagnosed and I know just how unpleasnat it can be to feel like that all the time as that's pretty much what I live with most days
Have a good day everyone :beer:0 -
hey all. have been doing last minute overtime at work, hopefully last day today as though our bank balance needs it - i need to sleep and catch up on here!
starspar, i hope today is a better day. it can become such a cycle of eating bad food and feeling worse because of it.
victory, have you gone in ambulance yet? thats a crazy time to be up! when i read ur post, i just imagined u all in a roomy villa, staring at the wall or floor
just popped in to say think im a sts this week which im grateful for as ate way too much junk at my mums on saturday.I am a poor student wife now but don't think I can edit username? i study dance and love it though of course, it'll be a career that doesn't earn a lot of money!!
lost 5lbs so far - up to 11lb more to lose i think, will stop if it looks skeletal though dont think that could ever happen!0 -
Welcome Vanya!
Bails: Nepal?? Wow, have a fab time!
Victory: Good Luck! I'm sure all will be well.
It's the age old question guys but I thought I'd see what your experiences are as it's been niggling at me for a couple of weeks now....
I do SW and last week I lost 1lb. I didn't go to the gym at all as a test to see if it made a difference. This week I lost 1lb and I went to the gym 3 times
It would appear that my sweaty efforts every week are making no difference to my weight loss at all. I know that muscle weighs more than fat and it may not be showing on the scales but I want it to!!! I haven't measured my inches, for me what those scales say matters!!
Am I just being unrealistic? Is regular exercise something everyone here does?
I do a mix of cardio and wieghts for an hour 3 times a week in the gym and I walk my dog (although I intend on walking longer distances and different routes as we're getting lazy). SW promotes doing exercise to boost weight loss and you get awards for exercising too but majority of the members don't exercise regularly and still lose weight no problem...maybe I'm just doing the wrong kind of exercise!

Kimonoo,
RE: the exercise - it varies from person to person. There used to be a member called Suggs once a while ago who if I remember correctly always gained after playing rugby so it can be a bit bizarre which its why you should try the measurements as that way you'll hopefully see a difference with either the scales or the inches which will help you stay motivated.
The exercise will definately help you in the long run as well it just doesn't always show on the scales (sometimes it shows up a week after). but you will get more toned and fitter too not to mention happier (good old endorphins).
not sure there is a wrong sort of exercise...anything helps
The exercise peeps do on here varies a great deal according to ability normal day to day activities (some people have medical issues) to all out crazy converts like Missy who never thought she'd run a mile and is now onto half marathons.
so I'd stick to the exercise if you can it will pay off eventually. maybe keep a log of your gym visits as well as your weight and then you can see if its made a difference over a few months? Just find something you enjoy0 -
Hi Serendis :hello:, how are you? How are the plans for the big day coming along?
Well done on all the losses peeps! :T I guess starting the day eating chocolate mini rolls isn't really the way is it  :rotfl:The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Hi guys.
Got a gain of 0.2lb this week.
But it's alright. Measured my waist to find it's shrunk by 1/2 inch since last week. So I can only assume that I've gained muscle
Well done to all STS or losers this week!:T0 -

Vanya that sounds like a perfect approach, you should notice a difference if you make these two small changes.
If you can aim to make some of the walks over 40 continuous minutes at a reasonably brisk pace, that's about when the fat burn starts kicking in properly!
Good luck with your weight loss! Nice to see another Surreyite on here too!
KPC - bit worried about you honAny chance of you getting a few days rest and relaxation?
Victory, you're a star for hanging in there and helping.
Kimonokawaii - if you have recently increased your exercise, then chances are it's your body composition changing. Improved muscle tone will make your body stronger and heavier than if you were carrying a greater proportion of your weight as fat, but you will be smaller and more toned.
Once your body has adapted to the new routines, things should settle down as your new activity level becomes "the norm." It may change again as you lose more weight, or if you up your exercise again.
Exercise does work for weight control (although it has loads of other benefits too!). With my calorie intake of circa 2000/day I can maintain a size 8 with lots of exercise, probably a size 14 with moderate activity, and I'd be about a size 20 if sedentary.
Congrats on all the good results being posted this week :T Post-TOTM I've now weighed myself and all is wellMy next official monthly weigh in will clash with TOTM unfortunately - I've got away with it all year until now!!!
