hello all. I've had a lovely weekend. Wedding on friday went well. I ate a few more canapes than I might have done, but the starter and main course were pretty healthy and very yum: salmon and grated fennel followed by chicken ,green beans and pots dauphinois. Desert was the world richest, heaviest chocolate tart thingy with raseberry sorbet. Had the sorbet and wrapped the tart up to take home to OH: how to make a man happy:D.
We also all got a box of 4 hand made choc which I shared with him. Didn't seem to be much expence spared - there were even a couple of women in a side room offering neck & shoulder massages. We are all given a box of rose petal confetti too. I couldn't get near then Bride and groom at the throwing time, so i confess mine re now decorating my tiny victorian fireplace in our bedroom.
Saturday I went to Worthing with a friend to follow the open house art trail andtook a picnic. Yesterday was dedicated to the final stage of the Tour de France. Today I am in mourning as it lasts 3 glorious weeks an now I have to wait 49 weeks for the next one. Yesterday lunch and dinner was also about using up left overs - alwasy a little difficult to combine weight loss with frugality, but lunch was chicken, peeper onion & ceese fritata & grated carrot and dinner was fishcakes (barely used can of pilchards & left over mash) and baked beans
Sary - I think it's probably your friends personality, because I was single til I was 39 and happily and easily fell into my relationship with OH without any difficulties of compromise or considering his needs as valid & worthy as my own. In fact I was delighted to have the opportunity to have to consider someone else and still love it.
I would find it quite a hard if a friend keeps talking about a problem and then won't do anything about it. It wld be very frustrating, but then again, if I loved them as you do your friend there wouldn't be a question of walking away.(as there isn't with you either).
Nice complements!
kpc - is being ill again a coincidence o are you a bit run down?
vixstar - keep chipping away at your 0.5lb losses, they do add up.
Mazza:T
Victory - counting the day for you.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
BB what restraint! I think I would have had to eat that pudding! Love the sound of grated fennel and salmon - smoked or fresh salmon? I might try that.
I hope your 'won'tpower' is reflected on the scales this week, you certainly deserve it. You sound as if you're feeling better than you have been recently? I do hope so.0 -
Scary: Yea ive been broody since a little girl i think!! i defo know when i was about 12 i would look in the argos book and pick out prams and bottles. Since getting with matt its been even worse but im really enjoying life at the moment and i really don't want children for awhile and its been years since ive been able to say it! I love doing what i want so i dont want that to change for a bit. 25 is a good age, but thats only 2 years time for me and i dont think i even can see it that close. Well wierd for me.
BB: Sounds nice. I hope you gave your OH MAJOR wedding hints, would have been a fab opportunity
Get better soon KPC XX0 -
fredsnail - I think you may well have hit the nail on the head there. I think whether it's conscious or subconsciously she's using the weight as something to hide behind. I know she feels so lonely, and would love to be in a relationship again, but feels completely unworthy right now. I told her the story I mentioned here some weeks back about people being attracted to someone of the same self-esteem, and how that had affected people who lost a lot of weight, after meeting someone, etc. I think she's always worked in the reverse though; loses weight, meets someone, gains weight, relationship nosedives.
kpc - sorry to hear you've been under the weather, but glad you feel better again now.
mazza - how are you going to spend your two weeks off work?
victory - I'm sure it must be a worrying time for your mum & her partner. A triple bypass is a huge op, with a long recovery period. I've had a relative who had one, and they were very poorly both before and after the op, but have slowly recovered to have a reasonable quality of life. It is the kind of procedure that carries a big risk, and they're both probably frightened of your mum's partner not making it. Is it difficult for you to cope without your WW meals? Can you make do with chicken salads, or healthy fish meals in the meantime, soup for lunches, etc? I think you're a saint for surviving on WW meals tbh, as I don't think I could!
I've been so lazy today, so really need to get up off my fat behind and do something now.One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
