    I'm back again!
Well, I didn't find another outfit, so it was the black trousers and faithful monsoon blouse. I did get a lovely compliment from a very old friend of the family though, who, when leaving, apologised for not speaking to me earlier on, but she'd not recognised me as I'd lost weight, but she thought I looked good and really pretty! Wow, with compliments like that, I'll start classing my faithful old monsoon blouse as my 'lucky' blouse!

So, we had a lovely evening. The meal was quite nice, and I had lamb with veg for my main course, the starter I wasn't keen on (ham terrine) and a lemon tart for dessert. I don't drink wine, so drank water all night. Followed by a lot of dancing. I feel a bit tired today, as I woke quite early, despite it being a late night. We stayed o/night at my sister's house, so I didn't have a long drive home until today. My boys all did me proud again, and I had lots of compliments about how lovely and well behaved they were, and then my big sister said the same again this morning when we saw her, and she thanked them for being so fab. Oh, and my big sister, who's anniversary it was, got the most beautiful ruby and diamond ring from my bro-i-l. Very romantic eh?

Vix - I was broody from the age of about 15 if it helps, but I didn't actually have my 1st until I was 25. It's nice to have the planning stage, so make the most of that while you have it. After you've had them you then spend the next few years planning for when they've all left home!

We go away next weekend for a week, so it's a plan of trying to stay good for the next week to keep on track in readiness for getting my swimming cossie on (don't want to risk getting harpooned)!

Missy - my friend seems to be completely anti-exercise. She spent about £500 on home equipment back in January, but says she's used them once (eliptical machine and a vibration plate). She is the kind of person who parks in the space closest to the shop, and for whom the idea of a sight seeing or hiking holiday would sound like hell. I don't know if that stems from sheer laziness, lack of interest, or what, but she's always been like it. She had a gym membership, didn't use the gym, but used the coffee lounge for meeting friends. I've suggested to her joining a fitness class, or even a dance-acise class as a means of making new friends, widening her social circle, and also getting fitter, but she seemed rather uninterested in the idea. As I said, I find it all rather frustrating, because there isn't a fairy godmother going to wave a magic wand and produce an instant weightloss, instant potential husband, instant high paid job, etc. In some respects she behaves like an indulged teenager, not wanting to grow up and face the responsibility of dealing with being a grown up, and that entails. Strange really..... I put part of it down to having been single for the majority of her adult life, therefore not having to compromise, accommodate another, and being selfless. Well, that's my theory anyway. Even now she's blaming her mother for most of her weight issues, despite being the one in control of her life, and not having lived at home since 18. I don't have the answers for her, other than she needs to be the one to want it enough to take control. Sounds so easy, doesn't it?

I know Beanie, and then not to use it! She even has a cleaner who has to dust it, so doesn't even get exercise that way. As you can probably tell, I'm rather frustrated by it all, but want the best for her too, because she's my friend, and I love her.

Sounds like she has to wait until her head is in the right place.

We all know what we should be doing, and it's not rocket science - but sometimes things just don't work out for one reason or another, then BOOM it all clicks right.

It's just infuriating for you having to listen to her when she doesn't do anything to help but that's what friends are for - being there when needed.

It could also be a confidence thing too - many people hide behind their weight so that if people don't like them etc it's their weight that's the problem. A security blanket if you like, even if you hate being overweight.

I know I hate doing exercise in public and the thought of weighing in at WW or SW or something similar fills me with dread - but I've found here for support and do DVDs at home and other exercises that I can do on my own. Eating wise I'm not too bad, probably eat too many carbs but rarely chocolate etc.

My aim is when I get to a normal weight and fitter so that I don't turn beetroot red while doing my DVDs that maybe I will go to a gym or exercise class.

So true Fredsnail - I would never exercise in public, even going swimming, i rush into the pool b4 anyone can see me :rotfl: This is the first year I have worn shorts to work, and the compliments I have had on my legs have given me a little added confidence, even started jogging (very slowly) whilst delivering my first bag and a half. By then I'm too knackered to do any more :rotfl:

I have downloaded some aerobics dvds so am going to try them out this week, cos i'm on holiday fro 2 whole weeks \o/ and won't get my exercise at work. First day of holidays was spent being a lazy moo tho, and I thoroughly enjoyed it :D
