I'll take the chart for July if you like Raph, if I'm not stopping anyone else having a go. I'll be away right at the end of July/beginning of August and a couple of days later in August but I guess we can work round that. I'm sure someone would cover for the odd week. If I don't do it again soon I'll completely forget how to do it.

Thanks for the offer granny :) pm me your email address & I'll send it to you at the end of the month :)

gald to ear you're having fun victory! I'm going all corporate today, got a customer coming in that I'm account handling for the marketing director - how cool does that sound? It really means that i'm the admin donkey, asking questions like - what delivery lead times are you looking for; and how do you transmit orders - but it all counts towards the bonus so yay! and off to the theatre tonight too - going to see his dark materials. Been a bit of a numpty though - thought it was just part one that was touring and found out yesterday that part 2 is on the same tour. It finishes(not just at the local theatre, its the end of hte run) sat - so i'm i'm not going to get to see part 2! was meant to be my friends birthday treat, but she's poorly so oh gets an unexpected treat.

I have to say that using the foodfocus website I realised yesterday that I perhaps wasn't eating enough. Only by about 200-300 cals but that's on a normal day and my eating doesn't change when I do some exercise.
It shocked me to be honest.
I did sort of work out that to lose weight I have to eat a bit more. Which was weird. But still. I need to find more high cal snacks that aren't chocolate or crisps so that I don't need to stuff myself! And also remember to add the milk in on my calorie intake :rotfl:

    Thanks for all the welcomes!

Hello Victory  enjoy that sunshine, because it's raining here!

KPC - have a lovely time at the theatre (altho' I wasn't sure what/who 'his dark material' is) - I really enjoyed my trip last week, as it feels more special than going to the cinema.

Bananasplit - it is rather surprising when you actually work out what you're eating, isn't it? It can work both ways, as you could think that eating lots of fruit throughout the day on top of your regular meals should be good, but if it puts you 500 cals over your daily limit, it's blown your diet! We also have to be careful that foods we perceive are healthy (such as the shop prepared salads, smoothies, low fat options) can actually be calorie laden. I find using foodfocus really keeps me on track, if i don't use it, I don't lose - in the words of Alexander the Meerkat: 'simples!'

One thing I would like to mention is that if anyone is starting to increase their calories from being in a position where their BMR has already been significantly reduced, then you may see weight gain at first.

Even on small calorie increases, I've found the weight gains can be alarming in the first week. Your body has been used to surviving on a restricted intake, so I guess it thinks you're 'on a binge.'

In my experience things start to settle down after that first week. You may be left with that first week's gain to deal with, but at least you are approaching it with a healthier metabolism, so it should be easier to do :)

I keep the increases small, and always give it four weeks to get used to the new level before deciding whether to go up again.

yowch beanie! hope you feel better soon.

his dark materials is based on the philip pullman books - northern lights, subtle knife, amber spyglass. northern lights was filmed as the golden compass? excellent excellent books very curious to see how it works on stage.
