FFM - glad to hear you're recovered after the big climb! I'm just being nosey really and wondering if a significant proportion of the gain was due to muscle? I would have thought that sort of climbing would be excellent resistance/muscle work. Having said that, it often works the other way around for me (extra exercise = fat gain, muscle loss :rotfl:)

Not nosey at all :D 0.8lb muscle gain and 1.8lb fat gain :o

Probably due to the mixed grill and chips, cumberland sausage and creamy mash, steak and kidney pie and chips. Camping and climbing sure do make you hungry (okay, so I ate the mixed grill before I left :rotfl:)

I am behaving myself this week though. Don't want to have to carry too much extra weight on the bike on Sunday

Good day today, boss put me out on part of a delivery so felt like i got some exercise, was walking at a very brisk pace and jogging/skipping along in parts, was a nice light day so could do that :rotfl:

    Lunch - Tuna pasta

Dinner- Chicken Breast, steamed veg and a handful of chips (well some are ok occasionally, right? :o)

    Supper- Bowl of cornflakes

    My trusty apples for snacking.

Mazza - forgot to answer your question earlier: yup, I do live in Brighton - not far from the hospitals. Where did you live? I love it here: came originally as a student, moved away for 10 years and came back 10 years ago when wanting to start my life over: so much going on here that I soon made a new life for myself.
FFM - sounds a great trip!
kenny - you definitely are an 'all or nothing' man aren't you:D. I'm sure there must be a happy medium between pie & chips and drastically undereating and if you follow through on some of the ideas I think you will get there. But don't be discouraged - you are doing something to get healthy and that is great. We have all found in our own way that these things take time to get right for our individual body types/appetites/ lifestyle, and always need tweeking.

I lived between the hospitals too, on Queensway, before moving to Elmore Road (down near police station). I left Brighton about 5 yrs ago when my marriage broke up, and came "home" to scotland to nurse my sick father, who was determined to die here, such morbid reasons eh? But yeah, I loved Brighton, kinda miss the hustle and bustle of it, although the bank holiday markets at the race course got a wee bit too much hustle and bustle :p

LOL mazza - we would have been neighbours:D. The hills in Brighton were a big suprise when i first came here. I've never been inside the race course but try and avoid it if there is any event on - traffic nightmare.

evening all! I've been ever so good today, back on the straight and narrow. And my plans came through for the extension so everything looks rosy. Jt need to talk to the architect about tweaking a couple of things. Welcome to all our new guys, bananasplit your exercise regime sounds exhausting! how do you like th boxing? and aitch aitch, glad to hear you are enjoying your wii. As victory has proved, you don't need to do classes to succeed with ww, and the sw online version is good too. whatever you decide to do there'll be someone else on here doing it to support you.

Kenny, I'm a bit concerned that you've got yourself into a bit of a vicious circle. You eat less, exercise more and don't lose - so you eat less, exercise more . . . .I know it took Missy a while to find some balance as she upped her exercise levels, and she did some very strict work with the book she has recommended to work out what would work for her. You can't keep up the level of exercise you are at on the calorie intake you are on. Do you love the gym? is that why you go so much? Or are you forcing yourself to go so much because you think it may be best? Maybe cutting out 1 or 2 of your sessions will help you find some balance. I'm not big on fruit, but i like veg, so I have a pile of veg( often no more exotic that frozen green beans) with most of my meals at home. It took me a while to find a yoghurt I liked, but hte ww dessert recipes are actually delicious. Sary's suggestion about nuts could be a good one.

I survived the exercise class - just! The usual teacher was off sick, so the stand in teacher had us doing an aerobics class first, then a fitball class to finish. The aerobics class was very fast paced, and had lots of dance steps in it too, so it was challenging! The fitball class was a bit hard going on my knees (ooh, I'm a martyr to my knees), but the abs part was pretty easy, perhaps because it's not so long ago that I was doing an abs class as part of my gym membership last year. Anyway, I was sweating like a good 'un, and bounced around like an excited tigger for an hour, so that has to have done some good.

    Food today:
B - natural yogurt, blueberries, strawberries & banana
    L - 1 sesame bagel, nectarine, satsuma
D - 2 veggie sausages, 1 95% meat one, carrots/peas/green beans, small dollop of mash (no fat)
    snacks - 10 jelly sweets

I also cycled 2 miles today, and will do the same again tomorrow, as littlest Sarymclary needs collecting from school again. I try to do it at speed going, so that means I am putting in maximum effort, but his little legs can't keep up on the way home, so I have to take it easier.

ooh, I forgot to say: 'Thanks Granny!' very nice of you to offer to take over the chart for Raph. I would like to have offered, but worried that it would be more than I could realistically do, both technically, and practically.
