STUDENT WIFE - oooh we're the same age. Just jump in with anything
you want to say, people tackling their weight should not be shy in a safe
haven like this thread. Good luck with the audition!
blimey, remind me not to miss a week again, was quite a haul reading through all those posts and then realising i hadnt been involved! i blame the heat and being in work for a full week after 4 weeks off uni doing not a lot and also TOTM. the audition for the 'youth' dance company went awful for me, not to mention my bum looking huge in the mirrors but found out today that im supposedly in - will wait for letter to confirm before i get excited. this is cus there were 24 people and about 12-14 places and 4 boys who were almost guaranteed a place as soon as they were walked in. not that im jealous lol.
dmv - hi! its so nice to see a fellow 20 yr old on a weight loss thread as quite a lot of people i know are either a lovely size or think im too young to worry. rubbish! did you say ur a uni student as well? what do you study? your cooking sounds way more advanced than me tho.
im also feeling quite bad that i dont plan my meals in advance like some of u r putting on here, i just have a healthy meal when im hungry and havent been snacking a lot. i dont count my cals cus i can get obsessed but i know they're prob not more than 1800 due to being veggie and not eating too much junk. i also look at the fat content more.
Missy you're so knowledgeable and i wish i could exercise as much as you, it would prob help my dancing out. any chance you know why im getting stitches when i walk to work and sometimes towards the end of a dance class? im eating breakfast, cereal and juice normally or sometimes scrambled eggs. its really annoying me.
also, weight loss of 1lb for me - was 2lb when i got back from dancing but i think thats cheating!!!
will try and post more so i dont feel left out but going to housesit for my dad next week in west wales - my husbands already bought loads of junk food so not expecting a loss tho will be trying to walk on beach as often as poss. also going to join our council gym for a month when we get back hopefully as its £17 a month for students for pool, class and gym and they're nice facilities plus my dance classes finish this weekmaybe i will get there. 1 of my uni friends (on the dance course with me) said i looked like id lost a lot of week which reminded me i had actually lost a stone since september starting the course but had forgotten as id been focussing on this next up to a stone im planning to lose.
thanks for reading my ramble if you'd made it this far. last points are as an incentive, in work, i was asked to see if i fitted into the old saturday girls uniform (am a cashier in a building society). the top was fine, a size too big and jacket okay i think. trousers were a 12 and im normally a 14 so am thinking of getting into those as motivation!! am also getting my hair cut boy short again tomorrow to suit the new figure i imagine ill have by the end of summerI am a poor student wife now but don't think I can edit username? i study dance and love it though of course, it'll be a career that doesn't earn a lot of money!!
lost 5lbs so far - up to 11lb more to lose i think, will stop if it looks skeletal though dont think that could ever happen!0 -

Hello! Im studying Education With Childhood Studies and have another 1/2 years depending if i get onto one of the postgrad courses. My cooking is helped by an OH who has eaten in a lot of restaurants and is a brilliant cook who doesnt hide when hes unimpressed - he is just too lazy to do it and hates "ordinary" cooking so would order a takeaway or cook using package ingredients eg fresh stuffed pasta and fresh sauce. On special occassions he gets expensive ingredients eg seafood and £30 worth of fillet steak and I get spoilt with lavish 3 course meals, but then he wont cook for months after lol. With regard to people saying 20 is too young to worry, I think most people on this thread that addressed their weight in later life would have rather done it earlier and not compromised/felt bad about themselves/missed out on stuff so I think its good to deal with the weight now.
Hope you did better than you thought at the dance audition and get it, remember we are all our own worst critics!0 -
well, i resisted pizza and had lasagne which was probably my best option. i did have a champagne cocktail as a treat but none of it was disastrous! well done bindi! lol mazza, OH once said he was pushing some post through a letter box in a rough place and felt something scratch and dig into his hands. He went cold because the residents would do charming things like rig up syringes as postie traps so that the amil would not be delivered so he had visions of having to go and get tested. When he peered throught hte letterbox there was a cat clinging to the postbasket glaring at him!0

Been seeing this for a while now and after looking at pictures from the weekend from my best friend's wedding (I was Maid of Honour) I am thouroughly depressed and have decided it is time to lose weight as I looked like Barney the Purple Dinosaur in the pics
Think I have approx 43 pounds to lose...I am used to working in Kilo's so have done a rough conversion.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone and having the willpower to stick to it:)0 -

Well done on your weight loss and fingers crossed about the dance company!!!
I'm reading a library book about walking for fitness at the moment, and it says it's not really known why some people get stitches. Researchers suggest eating small amounts of food at a time rather than big meals, avoid food high in sugar & fat just before a workout, don't skimp on the warm-up, and if you do get a stitch then slow right down and try deep breathing while massaging the sore area, or bend fully forwards.
I don't really get stitches, but I find I definitely "know it" when I'm exercising too soon or too intensely after eating. Slowing down is usually the key for me, but I guess that's easier said than done when it's a dance class!0 -

You call a beautiful white sandy beach in blazing sunshine less tempting than a cupcake:rotfl::D
Good news on the swimsuit! :T:T:T
Raph (if I'm not too late) have fun during your MSE break!
Bails have a great few days, congrats on your impending Auntdom!
Welcome to the thread Starspar! That's the approx amount I lost, good luck!0
