Well I'm not a happy bunny! Took car in for MOT at lunchtime and came home, an hour later got called to say they had a major powercut and had abandoned the test so to come and get my car. Whilst there I found out even though they hadnt finished it it had failed on four things. None of them death trap like (new tyre, blades, front spring and rear bushes?!) but still have brakes and emissions to go, though he expects them to be fine. Then got a call an hour ago to say they are back up and running so took it back in to be finished, but they dont do the bushes and that another garage will do it and I might not be able to pick it up till saturday! Now call me stupid but I thought all garages (and this is a major chain!) would be able to do all repairs themselves but apparently not. They will call me back with a ball park figure but its not looking good. Annoyingly this is the worst stretch of year financially for me as its just after holiday then MOT, tax and insurance and also no student loans between april - october and unlike most students, my living costs are the same all year! Very annoying.

Ive also messed up a bit food wise as didnt have breakfast then hated soup for lunch as ive gone right off of it (think i overloaded earlier in the year!) so only had 2 mouthfulls so then had a few handfulls of cereal. Am starving now but will make myself wait for dinner which will be spag bol with a side serving of spinach cooked with chilli and garlic. Have never had that before but got a huge bag of organic spinach reduced to 20p yesterday so thought it would add some veg to the meal. Will probably serve a raw red pepper with it aswell for myself as will try to eat a bit less meat/pasta that way.

Arghhh! My whole day has been messed up now!

Afternoon everyone and well done on losses and STSs :T Granny, don't forget it could simply be muscle so be kind to yourself and see what next week's WI brings x

Had a good day here - 6 portions of F&V so far, all healthy and yummy food so very happy :T I'm really hungry a lot of the time at the mo, it's strange, been like this for the last few weeks - possibly TOTM related at mo? but not sure about the rest of the time. Perhaps my metabolism is kicking in after so long in the doldrums? I'm having small regualr meals though to try and combat it, perhaps need to increase my protein intake?

Spaghetti with olive oil, garlic and herbs with fresh tomatoes, spinach and parmesan tonight - yum, yum!

Thanks for doing the chart tonight Granny.

ps is half a tin of beans one portion of F&V? And how many redcurrants? The websites seem to vary, anyone got a reliable one please?

LOL at the latest run of results on here - 1lb gain / 1lb loss / 1lb loss / 1lb gain. Are you sure you're not passing the weight back and forth? :p

Congrats to everyone who's happy with their result this week so far :D

KPC sounds a bit tricky with those menu choices but I hope you find something that suits you and that you'll thoroughly enjoy :D

    Welcome snowbrow! Nice avatar ;)

Granny don't be unhappy, it's ages since you last posted a gain isn't it?

Thanks Granny, sleep well. Congratulations Bindi :T

I didn't get to finish my post earlier as I was interrupted by the baby news! I'm planning on posting here regularly for the next month til we go away and will appreciate the support, especially in these first days until things become more of a habit.

A small blip tonight by OH meant dinner wasn't as great as I'd have liked - it's really important to me to enjoy my food but I'm determined not to let it spoil the rest of my hard work today. Roll on tomorrow! :D

I'm planning to lose 1 and a half stone, so I'll put that in my sig now.

Good luck this week everybody! :T

Well news on car is I wont get it back until NEXT thursday so will be in the garage for a week! Total cost including MOT is £265 as part of it will be done by another garage off the books but the guy is on holiday, and my MOT is up so I cant drive it in the mean time! Annoying but the bushes is a big job something about axels etc etc and if it went through the books it would be an extra £120 so its worth the inconvenience of not having a car for that kind of saving.

I over garlic and chilli'd the spinach! I used the "lazy" version in a jar and forgot how much less you need, was still nice though. OH suggested putting a little with the pasta next time which I will try. Was thinking that would be enough for me and a cheap meal to do something similar to what bails did. OH would need some meat or fish so could add a small pack of mussels or some prawns which I could have a few of and both of our tummies and the food budget would be quite happy i think!

Edited to add: Congrats to all losers!
