what thread is that one, been on the living for £4k a year and gave up a while ago, put the extra pennies in the pot, the £2 a day, the £10 challenge, been on them all, get excited about them all, take all the good bits with me,always switching threads on this site, I am now on grabbit, freebies, glitches (quick grab it ) ideas for xmas, food and shopping, special celebrations, pots of gold, hampers, I have got economy gastronomy, I hate throwing anything out, my next door neighbour, her daughter is having a baby and went round last night and offered some bits, my neighbour visibly recoiled at the idea of second hand goods:rolleyes: said her daughter was having a new baby so new stuff and no thanks but hey never been too proud or too rich to accept car boot sales, charity shops, hand me downs, second hand toys, it all comes in here, all appreciated, all used and then either passed on ,sold, swapped, there a long life in everything it is just a case of using it to it's full potential:D

I drive my kids crazy because if they leave food, I look at it and try to think how to tart it up for tomorrow and they know me so they say 'mum, throw it out, put it in the bin, there is no saving that':rotfl::rotfl:but as I walk into the kitchen with it I am getting the recipe books out....;)

  • Hello!

Victory, I must take a leaf out of your book and try to stop wasting food, I'm terrible for throwing things out!

I was wondering if anyone can help? I'm trying to control my eating and using food focus has been good. I've made a big pot of lentil soup, the way my gran used to do it, and I'll freeze it for healthy lunches. Only thing is, I don't know how many calories would be in a bowl of it! Any ideas anyone? Its got 250g lentils, 800g carrots, 2 leeks and 100g potatoes, will probably make about 9 bowls! I can't seem to work it out!

    Much love, ws xxx

:pvictory - I've never been to Spain so I can't comment but you really should give it a miss one year and go to Venice - it is incredible. I would recommend it to anyone (but give the portaloos next to St Marks square a miss - trust me they are awful!!) Wow very impressed with your budgeting skills.

bails are you trying to tell us something bebe15.gifDoes the wee stock fly that high?? :p

vix - vibes being sent. Good luck

granny - I'm with you - gonna give up crisps (but please can I keep the red wine? :D)

WS - Try using the Create meals button and just enter each ingredient (did a rough one for you and I reckon its about 144 calories per bowl)

Vix positive vibes on their way

PepPop with running they say if the cold's below your neck then don't run but if its purely a head cold then give it a go (although also listen to your own body)

Got jumped by a ginger biscuit today when I wasn't concentrating, other than that so good so far.

    Thanks everyone!

Its a campaign assistant for a new theatre which is opening here at some point. It sounds a bit up my alley. Im trying to be miss positive but its really hard...the old "a million people out there are a million times better than me" vibes keep coming in.

Although my main motivation is work because i have had a pay rise! 1p above the national minimum wage! wow. Also the christmas temps are on 4p more. I cant tell you how angry i feel over 4p but i do. Its more the principle that my 4 years of knowlege means less than just getting in 2 kids who will !!!!!! off home for christmas and the people left behind will still have to work all the rubbish over christmas. argh!

    moan over.

Bails: well thats just not convieniant at all! not that you probably use them, they do give off a slightly "kills the mood" kinda smell.

No c/c/c so far BUT OH went into Aldi today and came out with two multi packs of mini Ritter Sport. He thinks he's been really clever to spot a bargain.

You can be in the guerilla team PepPop, good luck with fighting off the crisps. Of course you can keep the red wine, it's so good for you it almost counts as medicine. (Cocktails would be a different matter)

I've noticed that a lot of these challenging foods, which find there way into our mouths in some sneaky way, are c words .... chocolate, cookies, crisps, chips, cheese and even crusty white bread. Is there a message in that? But Vix .... smelly condoms? Surely not?

right i have to confess to an appaling food intake today, which is about to be made worse when my pizza arrives. Oh god you are right about the C's...today i have had Crumpets,Cheese,Chocolate and Cookies...good god i deserve to put on weight. Had a chat with my sister about weight loss and she said i was looking really well to which i replied i wanted to drop down to a size 12 as im currently a 14 on top with 16s too big for bottom half but 14 too small lol. She said good luck to me and she hopes i do it but no matter how hard her and my other sister (8 and 10 years older than me) have dieted in the past they have never got smaller than me. It seems that when we get to this point no matter how well or even badly (within reason!) we eat we stay at this size as it appears to be our "natural weight". Now i know some people will say thats an excuse etc but shes right in that i am eating really bad and not gaining, and even had the heartbreak diet which yes i lost half a stone but then barely ate for a couple of weeks and didnt lose lol so it seems this is the happy weight for my body...shame its not for my head.

I am determined to get down at least another dress size buy next summer as im accepting that the implant is supposed to make me gain and this appears to be my bodys stubborn weight. Im also thinking that although im not exactly happy with myself i dont HATE myself like i did before...so dont have quite the same amount of motivation. Oh well, hoping coming on here will help with it again.

Good luck avoiding the dreaded C words people!!!
