    Hello Safed. :hello:
    • Write down every single thing you eat or drink. That makes you stop and think about what you're doing
    • Post on here at least every day, it really helps to keep you on track
    • Once a week tell us how much you've lost (or even if you've gained or stayed the same)
    • Try to move a little bit more than you usually do - even if it's just getting up to speak to someone rather than call out to them
    • Tell us what you like to eat and someone will give you advice - people follow all sorts of different plans
    • Do you have any foods that you can't resist? Don't allow them into the house!

I don't know if anny of that helps - there are very clever people on this thread who will be able to help you but as it seems a bit quiet tonight I thought I'd put in my two penn'orth. ;)

Hi safed, welcome to our lovely thread. You'll find lots of advice and support here. We all tend to find that posting here regularly (daily) helps us to stay on the straight and narrow. We post our losses/gains/STS's (stay the sames) once a week, and our current chart compiler is Granny. The chart gets posted on a Wednesday, mid-evening, so if you are able to post anytime before then in bright, bold text, that helps her to find them. Different posters weigh on different days of the week, so just go with what suits you best.

Contributers here are using a variety of weight loss tools, such as Weight Watchers, Slimmers World, calorie counting, Rosemary Conley, Low fat, low carb, Tesco Diets, etc. We tend to focus on short-term goals, such as 5lb loss per month challenge, to drop a dress size by a particular event (Xmas, birthday, wedding, party, etc). Do you have a particular plan you are considering following? The more you chip in the better we'll get to know you, and vice versa.

Victory - I can't see that either of those things you mentioned could have been a problem. At the end of the day it will come down to relevant experience, and the interviewer's personal judgement as to who suits the job best. Well done at getting through it. We all know how stressful it can be.

Vix - See if you can set aside an hour and a half this week to devote to a bit of exercise. It can take some doing if you're busy, but I bet you'll feel very satisfied with yourself if you do it, both from having done the exercise, and managing your time.

Hezza - I am liking the sound of the aqua-fit class!

KPC - I'm there with you in that happy place! :D

So, it's not October yet, but I'm easing myself in to the lower carb intake. I just feel utterly bloated at the mo, so I'm just looking forward to feeling less so. I'm going to start logging my food plan for the day, as I find it helps to keep me accountable, so bear with me folks!

    B - porridge
    L - banana & 3 small slices bread
D - steamed chicken breast, mixed veg, mash

(later in the week the bread & mash will have to be gone)

On the bonus side, I haven't felt nearly so peckish, and wanting to keep snacking, which is proof enough that the carbs are just evil!
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

Got the job, been out buying black shoes and black trousers, they will get me a uniform but until then..., funny the lady rang me to say I had got it and asked what size I was when I told her she went '!!!!!':rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: all good, 8 hours a week nothing, did not even ask what the money is but minimum wage should bring me in £40 a week, what will I do with it, a trip round the world is not far off now:rotfl:

Congratulations Victory! :D Hope it all goes well!

Also bit late but congratulations to Bails too! :T

Sary good luck to you with starting the new approach. How is your friend doing by the way, wasn't she starting something different a few weeks ago?

Safed welcome! A good place to start as Granny has said is analysing your current eating and activity levels. There might be some easy changes you can make to get things going :)

Hezza I like the sound of your instructor ;)

Vix what about your journey to/from work, any way of doing some or all of it by walking if you don't already? Then it's not as much of a time investment as a separate session.

All's OK here - I've cut my calorie allowance back down to the 1600-level. This doesn't seem much for the amount of activity I'm doing, but I'm running out of ideas for how to lose what I've gained
  • Gotta dash but couldn't read and run:

    Congratulations Victory, that is fantastic:beer::j:j:T
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

If you're exercising so much Missy is it possible you've gained muscle mass not fat?

Yey Viktory, so chuffed for you!

The girlies on my thread and I started a 10 week challenge to each drop a stone by the end of September, so tomorrows weigh in is a big one for me. Unfortunately its still TOTM so I feel whale like and I doubt I'm going to hit my target.

  • did the class! i'll prob go again actually, i enjoyed it. Experimenting with supernoodles today - low fat ones are free on green days for sw, but the flavours are a bit limited. As the fat is in the noodles, I bought some low fat ones and some full fat ones and swapped the flavour sachets! probably not allowed, but never mind
