I know you are not;) it is a wide comical fun poking 'get a job at maccs' held belief by parents that if they do they have not achieved anything and will end up there forever and all the money they spent on their educations was wasted:rotfl: you did very well and proud you should be:D0

Hello
Just popping in to say hi - I had a private message from someone asking me what Scanbran is, which was a real blast from the past, considering I haven't been here for months. I still miss you all, but access to the 'net is usually limited and I spend what precious time I have making Skype calls and keeping up to date with emails.
Our travels are still going well - we're in Switzerland now, and we're heading towards southeast Spain where we're going to stop travelling and actually stay in one place for FIVE months. After that it will be 'back to life, back to reality' in the words of the Soul II Soul song.
Good to see so many familiar 'faces' here - I'll be back as one of the regulars again next Spring, and I'll try to show my face again a few times before then.
Keep up the good work.
Au revoir,
LL

Thanks for all the positives about holiday weight gain. A little bit of it had dropped off by this morning, but it is so scary how quickly I can put weight on. The friend I stayed with is trying to lose weight too so really I didn't eat a massive lot more than usual.
I did have a lovely time - popping over to Italy for a bit of shopping, up into the monutains for lunch, a concert in Monaco, a swim in the Med .... but what an expensive area to live in! Very small cup of coffee - 2.20 euros. last year it would have been 1 euro or 1.50 so the prices have gone up as well as the exchange rate being against us. Did you find that in Spain too, Victory? Or is it just the S of France?0 -
isn't that always the way granny? You get really good at healthy eating and it works, but go the slightest bit offpiste and bang the weight goes on. I find it kind of disheartenening sometimes, but i guess it goes with that whole 'it's not a diet it's a lifestyle change thing.0

Well I couldn't resist having a little step on the scales this morning after my disappointment the past 2 weeks. and low and behold, that 2lbs is back off again, must have been PMT instead of junk food.
So still have 16lbs to lose!AAAARGH will it ever go.... Really need to get round to changing my sig, as it's only 3stones and 12 lbs i've lost now, will get round to it one day.
Flying visit today tho, off to Edinburgh Airport to pick up a friend who's visiting for the weekend \o/
Boss was messing me around yesterdayHe knew I had to be in Edinburgh early, so he changed my shift to late shift with only 12 hours notice, didn't even have the balls to tell me, his assistant did, then wouldn't take my calls or answer my txt messages. So took myself to docs for a sick note for my knee and elbow (tennis elbow and had a dodgy knee for years).
Good News - Got 5 days off work to rest my knee and elbow (tendonitis)
Bad News - Have to go get a camera in my knee to check the membrane is still intact :eek:4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
hi all. i've just started CelebritySlim and just had my first shake chocolate. Wasnt that bad. i've got the starter pack and brought 4 of the bars chocolate fudge to help me along. Im 11 stone but want to loose some and maybe get to 10 stone. Thing im trying to shift the most is my tummy which just wont go. understand if i'd had kids but i haven't lol.
Good luck all0 -
Mazza - that sounds a bit yeuch! Good luck with it. Your boss sounds like a right pillock, but I guess that's part of the problem with RM that we keep hearing about on the news huh? Have a lovely w/end with your friend, where are they visiting from?
Well, I've given myself a good, stern talking to, and decided that I have to be more focussed with my eating. I have no idea what's been going on of late, apart from me just not being on the ball, or taking enough care. We did have a week or so of eating whatever was in the cupboard/freezer to save some £, but it can't all be down to that. Anyway, I have now had a bright idea, of setting a short-term target, and see how I go from there.
So, for the whole of October, which is only 30 days, I am going to avoid carbs, and only take on board complex ones. If there's no complex carbs available, then I won't have them. No white bread, or pasta, no processed rubbish, and plenty of veggies to fill up on. I'll keep an eye on the sugar/fats at the same time. I am going to try to meal plan too, so that I don't have to make snap decisions, and therefore keep things on track. So, that's the plan! I feel almost happier just because I've made the decision. There is only one minor glitch on the horizon, and that's my best friend, and the boyfriend's birthday celebrations. I will just make the best choices I can on those occasions, without being awkward on their special days/meals out, and be careful in the run up to/just after the meals.
Granny I'm almost glad I stuck with a UK holiday this year, as I don't think we could have had as good a time if we had to watch how/where we were spending our cash. A trip to the Med used to be a cheap holiday, and as a kid I went every year, and we never had to think twice about the price of a coffee, cold drink or ice cream, and at out so cheaply at bars and restaurants. That was the appeal for my parents.
The forecast is good for the weekend I see, so I plan to make the most of getting outside again while I can.One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -

Well TOTM arrived today, over a week early, but that does explain my random 1lb gain mid-week. I have actually upped my calorie intake a bit to 1186 a day, its still not loads but hopefully will stop my body going into starvation mode! I plan to mostly have fruit and a bigger portion of veg with my dinner with those extra calories, although I did have a sneeky scoop of ice-cream at the weekend and a fairly rich sauce on my dinner out last night.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
