quick update.
the ex-director once again proves his stupidness knows no bounds....he contacted my wifes current MD yday asking did he give her the job thinking there was no chance after his terrible reference. he was told yes and she was doing very well. he then launched into a tirade of how she was taking tribunals against his company and had problems with management. the MD sensibly cut the phonecall short. I think this has backfired on him a bit
heard this morning a case management hearing with a barrister is scheduled later this month
I'd ask for a statement off the new boss detailing the call and the fact he had to cut it short.0 -

its tricky dragging the new boss into things tho
yes but if the new boss has just had that phone call from the old boss then he'll know what your OH went through and as long as she is on good terms with the new boss I would guess he would be more obliging than anything.
However always start the conversation 'I apologise to drag you into this but.....'Always ask ACAS0 -

I agree, he knows the history, saw through what her ex boss did and still gave your wife a job. Says alot for the guy if you ask me. i am sure he wouldn't mind putting pen to paper to write a short statement.0 -

yeah it was very good of him to believe my wife.
atm to keep him out of it the eq commission have suggested writing to the ex-employers MD to request an explanation of their directors behaviour and confirmation they will not contact her new employer again. i am certain the ex-employer will not be happy with this guy0 -
very interesting written reply from the ex-employer.
they assure my wife her employer will not be contacted again and that the ex-director should not have contacted them but he was only interested if she had gained employment (:rotfl:). more importantly they deny in writing that he gave her a false reference. so the new employer musta made it up then0 -
need some advice please
the ex-employer has produced a totally fabricated scoring sheet with no date or signatures on it - basically an excel sheet which is pretty pathetic. we know (dont ask how) that was made up long after my wife was made redundant. the company is supposed to be a registered ISO9001 company
is there any way we can ask for the document to be verified regarding when it was electronically created/edited?0 -
Yes, there should be a bit in 'properties' which shows the date it was created.
Have you got the actual excel document, or a printout?0
