You're neglecting you're MSE obligations...
the Equality Comm panel is meeting next thurs - the officer who has compiled her report on the case and will present to the panel is very confident they will offer my wife assistance.
the solicitor (our house insurance appointed) has reviewed all documentation. He wants a meeting to discuss his recommendations after the Eq Comm decision. he reckons IF they offer assistance our case will be considerably strengthened.
still no reply from the company on the "bad reference" tribunal raised - legal advice bein sought me thinks0 -
received the letter 2day from the Eq Comm - they have agreed to give assistance0

Hedger - I wish you and your wife a very happy Christmas. I have lurked on this threat for some time, having had a horrendous experience with my last employer on issues associated with breach of contract and sex discrimination. After being forced to appoint a solicitor to get them to back off, I foolishly agreed to a request to start afresh, rather than take the matter further. Following a further period of discrimination and professional marginalisation however, I was made 'redundant'.
I re-engaged my solicitor, got my Union rep involved (oh my, they loved that) and told them I was taking them to the ET. It was no idle threat. I had a strong case and such action would have left their professional reputation in tatters.
We eventually concluded a Compromise Agreement, which involved a sum I considered to be adequate compensation for my loss of employment and the rubbish I'd had to put up with over a prolonged period of time.
My employers deserved to have been exposed at the ET, but this would have been stressful for me and frankly, by this time I wanted to move on and do something else. The settlement I received has bankrolled this.
If you are confident of your case, simply keep your cool as matters play out and if they come up with an offer that seems OK, there is no shame in accepting it. If punishment is what you're after, hitting them in the wallet will deliver. Hopefully, it will also discourage them from repeating such behaviour. Job done. Sometimes in life one comes across individuals who are simply bad people.
Please do let us know how this turn out. And good luck!0 -

quick update.
the ex-director once again proves his stupidness knows no bounds....he contacted my wifes current MD yday asking did he give her the job thinking there was no chance after his terrible reference. he was told yes and she was doing very well. he then launched into a tirade of how she was taking tribunals against his company and had problems with management. the MD sensibly cut the phonecall short. I think this has backfired on him a bit
heard this morning a case management hearing with a barrister is scheduled later this month0 -
Thank goodness for the new MD eh?0
