I take it they are doing this to 'prove' a fair selection was undertaken hedger?

Are you able to share with us (or via PM) how you can be sure this is fabricated?

they provided a printed document with basically a table of scores. no date or no signatures

Can you be devious and say you can't work out how the scores were calculated; so could they email the document to you please.

    Like it!

    Or

'could I have a soft copy to email to my lawyer please.'

Will be annoying when they PDF you one though..

If they can't evidence having given a copy to OP's wife, through copy of an email, or minutes of a meeting, maybe it won't be too difficult to call their bluff?

I promise I don't work for them but I would suggest these people:

Don't forget that legal expenses cover you get with bank accounts or house insurance will often cover expenses to take your employer to tribunals.

Can I ask why you recommend RJW - do you have experience of them?

    need some advice please

the ex-employer has produced a totally fabricated scoring sheet with no date or signatures on it - basically an excel sheet which is pretty pathetic. we know (dont ask how) that was made up long after my wife was made redundant. the company is supposed to be a registered ISO9001 company

is there any way we can ask for the document to be verified regarding when it was electronically created/edited?

Not without an electronic copy. Which you will not get, unless they are stupid.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. They will have to back it up.

we know this is fabricated because a director told us exactly wat was happening back at the time the redundancies took place. a private list with names on it was produced before the fabricated scoring was supposed to have took place. the whole thing is a farce. proving it is the tricky part

Wouldn't the burden of proof be on them?
Not sure in this case, but for example in an unfair dismissal case (employee sacked) it would be on the employer, but constructive dismissal (the employee leaving) it would be on the employee.

but thats what theyll use as "proof" ie. a fabricated scoring system

she asked for a copy of her scores 7 times. at her appeal hearing she finally received a copy with names blanked out. there were (allegedly) 4 assessors scores - 1 assessor gave her really bad marks. after that she received another copy with 2 out of the 4 names blanked out. last week she finally received the scores with names against them and surprise surprise they have made sure a junior manager gave the bad scores (and not the director)
the scoring citeria wasnt even measurable. vague headings and my wife scored below every other comparator in every area despite having 3 or 4 excellent yearly appraisals.
