I have to say, if you're not already a member, it may be more hassle that it's worth joining just to claim £8 - I'm just saying it's possible.;)
Quidco is offering £8 and FreeFivers is offering £7.50
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Onetel/JDS were hardly a small company. I would suggest virtually any player in the market place is available at a price.
Info about Primus if you interested.

I've only been with Just Dial for about 6 weeks, if I change does anyone know if there are any penalties?

I reckon they'd be hard-pushed to penalise you since they are changing the Ts and Cs... :rolleyes:0 -
bbb_uk wrote:Is this actually any time or did you mean offpeak and weekends only? I believe JustDial's was only evening & weekends and to be honest they couldnt sustain loss of money from having people call for upto 20mins during the daytime due to the high cost the networks charge for calls to their network during the daytime.

I have now applied to Primus for my phone account, with no problems. I was however informed that I should inform Justdial that I am changing over.
Also for those who might still consider keeping with Justdial (Talk Talk) I read in the small print that a minimum 5p charge applies to chargable calls from your landline. I dont know therefore if when one dials in the evening or weekends, for each call a 5p charge will be made? If so this could really increase the cost of calls using TT.
Regards,
Martin0 -
(1). You don't have to. Don't bother.
(2). Free calls are not chargeable so the 5p minimum does not apply (just as the 4p minimum will not apply to free E&W 01/02 calls via Primus).
The part about JustDial's (part of the TalkTalk, OneTel, Tele2, Carphone Warehouse group now - so they'll probably all do the same) recent e-mail to subscribers which worried me was the quiet insertion of the word 'local':From 1st May your plan will change to LeisureUKTalk with InternationalCaller Extra:
For just 99p a month you'll get:
Unlimited** evening and weekend calls to UK local landline numbers (starting 01 and 02)
Unlimited daytime, evening and weekend calls to over 2 million TalkTalk customers*
International rates from as little as 2p a minute
Access to customer services - via phone, website or emailTime has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. I think the word local is just a mistake in their email, however I have just ditched them online through uswitch and signed up with Primus.
At the end of the uswitch registration you get a chance to recommend a friend and uswitch say they will send you a £10 love to shop voucher if your friend uses their service to switch (via the link in the email they send them). I included myself as a friend (on one of my other email addresses) so if I use them again I should get a voucher.0 -
I've just signed up too after hearing about the justdial take over. There was an initial mistake over the password but can't fault the manner and way they have dealt with it so far. The guy I spoke too told me that loads of people were migrating to them after seeing the info on Martin's site:-) Even he said, "A pound's a pound!"
One question though, my initial e-mail which has come from the e-billing section mentions nothing about it being the primus 2 package which is what I asked for. I don't know whether that is normal and I will get anything else to confirm. Some have said there is a welcome pack with a start date, but my operator didn't say this would happen, and was a bit vague to whether I would get an e-mail with a start date, just said it was 14 to 21 days. This is not much good if I am going to confirm I have changed to justdialsaver/talktalk.0
