I can now log into online banking and see my account. But I can't make any payments because it says the direct debit won't be set-up until 7th July.
I called IF earlier this week to see what was taking so long and they said they received my forms back on 25th June. 2 1/2 weeks!0 -

Just thought I'd post an update. My account is now fully active, with the direct debit mandate active from 14 July. The initial deposit came out of my account 17 July. So, that's about a month after completing my online application.
I made my first deposit from my connected account last Thursday using the direct debit system... with any luck that should go through at some point next week.
I haven't had any trouble getting in contact with operators over the phone, and they've been able to answer any questions that I have had. I have used the number 08005875758, which I believe is a freephone number.
How have other people got on with their IF accounts?0 -
ok, but I haven't put any more money into it since I discovered the Coventry account paying 3.25% :j:j:j0

The iSaver is actually a very good product in my eyes. I've been using it for over a year now and while the rate is only just starting to recover a tiny bit from the economic meltdown there are a lot of good features.
Firstly, it was a little slow to open. That said, I didn't have any issues with proving my identity and I certainly wasn't ask to prove some of the things that people in this thread say there were asked for. I'm wondering if there's a healthy dose of hyperbole doing the rounds?
Using the account is easy. Regular payments can be set up and altered quickly. Withdrawals are fast, it's easy to move money between accounts and new accounts can be set up speedily too (for example, I have 'pots' for my savings, holiday fund, presents and an engagement ring).
It's sad that 2.85% is a competitive rate at the moment, but the account is easy to maintain.0
