I read on a thread a while back you can close your ING a/c, wait 2 days, then apply as a new customer.
    There's also a referral scheme for £25 - worth a try if you're re-applying?

Ohhhh ING do annoy me with there constantly changing savings rates for new customers! I was warned when i opened there savings account that they like to change rates, a lot!

As my current ING savings account is only 0.25% lower than the new rate, its just not worth closing it to reopen it (yet!!).

I've got some referral codes yesterday in the post, so maybe it's starting again.
