"Disabled parking bays have no official standing in private car-parks"

They do under the law it's called discrimination of disabled persons act if you discriminate against a disabled person which parking in a disabled space and not being disabled is you commit a offence

A disabled friend fo mine sued someone for parking in a disabled space which she needed the others was full so by parking in one and not displaying a blue badge / being disbaled your braking the law

It's pople with Ferrari's who don't wan't to get there paint scratched who do it because the space is bigger that is because the bigger space is for wheelchairs

As far as I know, the Act (which is, in fact, called the Disability Discrimination Act 1995) only puts an obligation on a car park owner to provide disabled spaces, and to do what they can to ensure they are free for disabled people to use. I am not aware of an obligation for the general public not to park in a disabled space in a private car park.

I'd be interested to know what it was your friend sued for, and under what legislation.

Correct disabled bays / parent and toddler bays are only provided because it would have been part of the planning application for them to provide spaces for the disabled.
Utter rubbish can you provide case history for this discrimination case ? Disability Discrimination Act is a completely different kettle of fish. Parking on a private car park in a manner that is inconsiderate is not breaking any laws.

Hi, I originally started a thread on here, on behalf of my friend who received a ticket from Central Ticketing. This has now elevated and I have received letters from their Debt Agency 'Roxburghe' and their Solicitors 'Graham White' threatening court action and debt collectors arriving on her door step. This is getting a bit worrying now, what can we do?
Also, as much as i really appreciate any advice, has anyone actually stood up to them and won?

Yep, most of the posters who replied on your thread, me included (if you count 'ignoring their letters' as 'standing up to them').

And practically every poster on other forums such as Consumer Action Group, pepipoo.com and other parking appeal forums....in fact thousands of people now know that this is just a scam.

If you can convince your friend to stay firm and not to become a victim of the scam by paying them, then you will also be able to tell people about this scam with some conviction.

There may be one or two more pretty 'Final Demand' type letters and that will be it.

Why not Google 'Roxburghe' and 'Graham White' and read the forum results you'll get (Consumer Action Group, pepipoo.com and here)? Show your friend all the results and then forget about it and go Christmas shopping with the money instead! :D
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ignore them at all costs feel safe in knowing they wont do court, you wont get a visit and your credit rating will not be affected.

  • I would love to be taken to court by one of these scammers, it will never happen as they know as well as I that they will not win. Try a Google search of people being sued by these scammers. Relax and ignore them.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!

Ignore all correspondence from them, also report them as the tickets and letters they send out are in breach of the Companies Act 2006 section 82 - 84 : all registered company letterheads, emails, invoices etc have to have their company registration number on, registered company address, and place of registration on.
Send copies of ticket and any letters you have from Central that do not show these details to : Technical Offences Team, Companies House, Crown Way, Cardiff CF14 3UZ.

Does this mean that Graham White solicitors should also quote a registered company number and place of registration?

Only if Graham White is a limited company. I don't think it is, is it?
