Help - I received a parking ticket from Central Ticketing in April - I appealed on grounds of health (arthritis) straight away. They wrote to me in May with a "Formal demand befor court action" I called them they hadn't received my original letter so I faxted to them. Never heard from them all summer so assumed they drop'd the case but have now received a red debt collector letter from Roxburghe stating if thy do not hear from me within 7 days they will pass the matter to Graham White solicitors to proceed to legal action. Should I ignore this or call them and tell them I appealed but never heard back from Cnetral Ticketing?0

Central ticketing and their solicitors Graham White have been chasing me since January when I appealed a parking fine with the wrong year. Their solicitor Graham White have now taken to calling me and leaving messages on my answerphone whilst I'm at work. What do I say to them if one day they catch me in. Has anyone received similar phonecalls? I'm worrying about debt collectors turning up at my house now.0

For a start it's not a "fine", just an invoice. Secondly debt collectors are just private individuals, just like you and I, they have no right to enter your house, seize property and they cannot affect your credit rating. If they do appear at your door just tell them you will sue them for trespass if they do not leave immediately. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

If you get a phone call and/or if you get 'debt collectors' at your house (they are not Bailiffs BTW they are just nuisance callers like any other and you don't have to answer) just put the phone down or shut the door.
Or just smile and say ''two words - Martin Lewis'' then just end the conversation...it would be funny if we all said this as a stock response in such circumstances.:rotfl:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If they have taken to Harassing you via phone then they are committing an offence under the Telecommunication Act 1984 :
Quote :
[F143. Improper use of public telecommunication system. — (1) A person who—
(a)
sends, by means of a public telecommunication system, a message or other matter that is grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character; or
(b)
sends by those means, for the purpose of causing annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to another, a message that he knows to be false or persistently makes use for that purpose of a public telecommunication system,
shall be guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to...
Report them to the Police for Harassment and quote the above act, it would help you as well if you kept a record of conversations you have with them or when they call you.You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
Here we go again. Central ticketing left me a ticket after I had left my car overight on Tescos car park. The reason being the car sometimes has an intermittent fault and will not start until left for some time (god knows why). I picked it up the next day with the help of a friend who managed to start it.
I appealed to Central ticketing enclosing a copy of an invoice from the AA that I had received in the past for the same fault, also telling them that I had asked advise of a Tesco emplyee who advised me it would be ok to leave it there overnight without risk of a fine !!
They replied telling me I had been unsucessful in my appeal & I now have a demand for a larger fine because of no payment along with threat of court action
.
Any advise0 -

It's not a fine, it's an unenforceable invoice. Just ignore any further correspondence from them.
BTW it's "advice" not "advise".What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
