Do you think that a half the last weekend in September, followed by several all day fell walks in the Lakes a few days later, is good prep for this 10 miler then? :rotfl:

Used to cycle around those paths when I lived in that area - ah the nostalgia!

Thanks Bec, it's good to keep me on track!

A new longest distance for me today, 7 miles, took ages but not concerned about times at the moment just enjoying building up the distances. Off to work on my press ups now. Have a good day.

    I'm the same evab,
My pace may be slow but I can keep going.
Managed 4 miles this morning but it was hard going in the heat.
I've just got to start building up my distances now.
Mapping routes on https://www.walkjogrun.net has helped me because I can visualise the mile markers and it keeps me going.
I've mapped out a new route that's 5 miles, so I want to try that when I go running on Monday evening.

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Money Saving Alert coming up ............

Lidls are getting running gear in on Monday 6 July - tops, shorts, socks, etc. as well as heat/ice packs. I thought I'd pop in on Monday and take a look as I could do with some more training tops; I'll report back on what's available if anyone's interested.

Well done Linda, keep it going and good work in the heat. Raining and thunder storms up here now.

I'm rubbish at press ups too UK but I've got a link to a great website through my blog that helps you to build them up. I need something, don't want to be a lean running machine with flabby arms!!!!

Thanks for the info simply, Aldi also do some good walking and running kit - a bit hit and miss but worth having a look.

    i all....
phew just caught up with the thread.
i find i get a nagging uneasyness if i dont check in every day or so as you think of all those pages building up to read. This week I have been too busy to check here

it has been a poor week for me

    i managed 4x 4mile commuting run

i was planning to do friday there and back but the knee wasnt up to it.
i was then planning to finally get that first park run under my belt

now i have decided i need to rest up properly for two weeks and reassess then.

i will still be cycling around all day so i hope to keep my fitness...

off out tonight for a few g & t in the sun!

becky....i thought i was only me who played classical music, i also play muddy waters and bb king which makes people laugh as its a bit slow!!

have a good running week you lucky lot!!

    Hi all :j

All this running energy flowing through here. I'd like some please :D

Not much to report really, I ran on Wednesday evening, was supposed to do hills on Thursday but sat at the pc instead :o. I did go out yesterday evening and did one lap of 'Tooting Bec Common, so I don't feel too ashamed of myself, even if I did struggle due to tiredness (excuses, excuses :rotfl:)

Will get out there early tomorrow morning (pray) for a 10 miler. That way I'll have more of Sunday to rest/enjoy.

Happy running everyone. I'll pop back tomorrow to report on my completed task ;)

Mascot, I cycle to/from work: an 11 mile round trip. I have found it plays havoc with my legs in that they are stiff and I feel very sluggish when starting a run. Mind you, if I hadn't been so lazy on the running front my legs wouldn't be so stiff would they:rolleyes: Wish you better!
