Who said there was no such thing as a free lunch? One for Becky, perhaps? Or anyone else who might need a long sleeved t-shirt for winter!
The Stragglers need marshals for the Cabbage Patch 10 race (through Twickenham, Kingston, Richmond) on Sunday 18 October, at 10.00. It is not too demanding and all marshals will receive a free long-sleeved T shirt, free lunch and drink. Becky - I was in the car with my mum this morning on the way to my exercise class and I was telling her that you had sorted me out with a new training plan and I was telling her that there were some 6m 8m etc then all of a sudden it dawned on me that there was a 10 miler in there!!! when I read it yesterday I was thinking about 10k NOT 10m!!!:eek::eek:
Just take it gently...you'll be fine0 -

Funny you should say that - I might have to change my name to simplyconsistent :rotfl:
When I started running back in Feb I read through the whole of the previous thread(s) before I started posting regularly and there was one thing that jumped out at me.
The peeps that started running and then found reasons not to - too tired, wet, cold, didn't want to get up early, etc would stop running because they weren't progressing, then they would start running again, then find more reasons not to and they ultimately stopped posting and were never heard of again.
This made me realise that if I wanted to achieve my goal, and actually be able to run, then I would have to make time to get my backside out of the door on a regular basis (illness and injury permitting) - and it seems to have worked. :j :j2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
Morning all!

Hannah - you'll be fine - you didnt think you could do 8 remember and you did!!!
Good luck Simply for Sunday
Krider - I think its just the half tiredness - it'll shake off now you've been out for a run.
I like the sound of being kidnapped
I thought about marshalling but then I realised I couldnt see you or Uk come through the finish line...and I'd have to wait for everyone to finish (you know I'd be frozen by then)

So, so true, Simply! The famous 'Yo-yo' running that ultimately leads to injury, frustration and disappointment.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Once again this thread has become very very long. The MSE team says that this can put an undue strain on the servers (don't ask me how), so it is time for a new thread.
