How about running drunk?
Don't try that one at home kids, it's not a good idea for a long list of reasons!Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
Hello All
Did 4 miles and its still hot but dipped under 10 minute miling today by completing it in 38:48 so 9.69 mins/mile which is good - didnt mean to go that fast and it was harder work than usual but set off a comfortable pace and only realised when I got to three miles how fast it was - had to slow down a bit on the last but all good nonetheless
I ran home drunk from that justgiving evening a while back and burst into tears while running(okay my granny had recently died but still it was quite funny looking back on it!!!), thank goodness it was dark as I also ran into a tree (just a shoulder blow rather than straight into)...
Rich has run a race drunk I think...
Ooo welcome back Hobsch - great to see you0 -
That is some going in this heat and only two weeks back into gentle training - fitness is coming back encouragingly quickly.:D:D
Yep, ran a race after celebrating end of exams with several Newcy Browns. I dont remember much of it but it was in Chorley and was 4 miles in 21:52. After that I started to get the idea that I might have hit on a secret formula for racing success, but it seems that the course has come under suspicion as been a little short in recent years!:p:pGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Why thank you - I do feel rather good
And shhh but if all goes well this weekend I may be recording my first parkrun time for a long time and running close to 40 miles this week (which is double last week) - Oh I am soooo good at taking it easy
Oh and I need new insoles - they are wayyyy too thin0 -
Okay, I wont tell anyone - but I cant see completing 5K being a problem to you this week, after what you've already done, whatever the conditions.
What a difference a week makes.:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Good runs everyone, I did about 4 miles today but it was so hot and even though I had plenty of water I had to walk a few bits. Not too disappointed though and a rest day tomorrow.0

Sounds good JP - you should be fine on Sunday and will certainly be better prepared than most!:D
If anybody fancies a really fast 10 miler to go for a pb (Becky?) then make a date for your diary of 18th October.
The Cabbage Patch 10 is generally known as the fastest 10 mile course in the country and can back up the claim with its course record of 46:02 set by Richard Neurerkar. This was a British record and although Neurerkar was rather good it shows that the course is hardly challenging.
And the guy who came 4th last year ran 53:21 in the 50-59 age group giving a WAVA of 96.72%....in other words not far off an age group world record!
The start and finish is at the Cabbage Patch pub in Twickenham and crosses the Thames twice at Kingston and Richmond.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
