Hi all,
Well done for everyone’s running very impressed, I’ve had a couple of weeks of illness, then lots of work and then no excuses. Yesterday I kicked off the fitness again by walking up Snowdon with my hubby. It was a great day but very busy, feeling OK today and hope to go out for a little run later.
Hopefully I can get back on track with building up the mileage slowly and not do my usual of have a couple of good weeks, then nothing for ages.0 -

We have a record holder on the thread - what an honour!!!
Talking of which, I was chatting with Mr Parkrun himself, Paul Sinton-Hewitt, after the race on Saturday and he suggested that he had someone lined up to run a new Parkrun record very soon.
Now considering that the record belongs to Craig Mottram at 14:00 we are talking about a blistering Parkrun coming up somewhere soon.
I wonder if its Mo Farah........?Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Yes, so long as I ignore it in the first mile or soSimplycynical wrote: »Nice running krider - that's a good pace.

A nice steady 4 miles for me this morning - 00:40:18 (10:02/mile) - I wasn't copying you honestly krider.
Gotta be a good pace then if we are all doing it
Rest day for me today - aside from perhaps mowing the lawns but that's unfortunately not done at a run otherwise it tends to leave bald patches and clumps of long grass!
Great news on the getting out for a longer run becky :j0 -
Yes E.C should do - it'll be this evening though for both of you as all my previous plans are on the laptop at home and it find it easier to work from a basic one and amend
Well done on the Snowdon climb Evab - did you train it back down??how was the new cafe??
Oooo Rich I wonder if its going to be at Bushy...if they let us know in advance we could pop over0 -

TRAIN!!! No way! Up via the Pyg track, down via the Miners track. The cafe was OK, nice and modern, clean, just what you need for a quick refresher before heading back down. I couldn't believe what people were wearing though, girls in little little tops, trainers, blokes with no tops on and carrying a ruck sack, a women in high heels! It's a mountain folks, not a stroll in the park. No wonder there are so many recuses.0

I've always thought though - I think the train fools people...
Anyway well done - the Pyg track is the furthest I've ever got (not really into mountain walking but wanted to have a look) - lots of energy used there!!!

They were people walking up the mountain not from the train, I can understand trainers if you're on the train but not when you're walking/climbing. The train is too expensive anyway £23 per adult so walking is the only option:D0

Wow £23
Hey this is interesting:

Reckons we could prevent 1/3 of cancers in the UK population if everyone only ate healthily and did a moderate amount of exercise - WOW. I love the idea of making London traffic free on Sundays for running and cycling etc...but can you imagine the outcry0
