Still it was on ok race... just very glad i did not pay full price for it... 30 odd quid and no t-shirt...:eek: I would have been gutted.. I aint been to RW forum yet to read up on other reviews but I hope they was enough energy drinks for those at the back... People just helping themselfs to packs of energy drinks at the end instead of just 1 - 2.. disapointing to see.
Anyway thats the bad points.. was in wave 4 so started 15 after the gun first 2m lots of ducking but thats my hard look for starting in wava 4... was nice and warm and intestingly seemed to have the ups and downs as Athens will have just on a 1/2 scale ..#
Goody bag...

Yes and no... was ok till about 4m so backed off a little which eased it.. then fine till the end.. slighty sore when getting off the tube but seems to be not to bad at the moment.. better than it was last Tuesday anyway. So hopefully on the way to a full mend.. going to try and get in the miles in this week but at a gental pace then hopefully can still get my 22m in next sunday which after that my work is more or less done.. but its all in the hands of the injury gods at the moment.
But thanks for askingCabbage Patch 09 - 10m - 1hr 06mLeicester 09 -1/2 - 1h 26m0 -

hello all, well I did it, don't really know the time as my watch didn't work right so will have to wait for the results to be posted later.
Once again a huge thanks for all the advice & support that you have given to me over that last six weeks it has been invaluable.
If anyone had told me 13 weeks ago that I would take up running and have run my first ever 10k I would have laughed at them but here I am 12 weeks of running later & the race completedI can't :jI don't have the energy!
Will post again when I know the time (around the 1hr 20m I think)
Well done UK xFollowing :money: to keep us debt free :j0 -

Well done Uk - thats a great time considering the bad knee
Good first race Hannah - bet you are soooo pleased - shame about your watch though...but results should be up fairly quickly
Well I had an interesting run to round off my test week of the new plan...I drank way too much last night and have been very tired and grumpy all day so it was no surprise that it was hard going - at 2 laps I decided to head back but ran all the way back home so in total 8 miles. Since I've effectively done 4 speed sessions this week, its no surprise I didnt have the distance in the legs, so I am happy enough with how the week has gone - need to ease off on my easy run next week and it should be much easier to cope with Sunday's run then
Mon - 1 mile intervals 7:54 avg, 2 miles warm up/down - 5 miles
Tues - 4 mile tempo run in 34:37 8:39 mins/mile
Weds - 10k in 69:07 11:09mins/mile
Thurs - 10k in 55:36 8:58 mins/mile
Fri - rest
Saturday - 5k race in 25:52 8:21 mins.mile (+5k warm up) - was a bit out on time here because someone forget their watch and borrowed mine:rolleyes:
Sunday - 8 miles in 1:22:56 10:22 mins/mile
Total for the week = 35.6 miles
Am happy with this plan so am going to keep on doing things this way which means 1 mile reps tomorrow (after a good nights sleep)0 -

Hannah - Congratulations! You cant beat the feeling of getting your first race completed and realising that you CAN do it!:D
Simply - Your powers of recovery arent too shabby! How are you feeling about Abingdon now with 3 weeks to go?
UK - Anti-aging cream is bad for your WAVA. You want some aging acceleration cream to really boost your WAVA.:pGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
