I'll settle for just getting round without walking at the moment Uk
Thought it would be another opportunity for running with others rather than plodding round on my own. At my usual Simply pace only - no racing :rotfl:
Hmmm, not so sure about you going easy on Rich though - how will you resist that temptation?????????????2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -

:p UK, I'm not sure that tiredness from those runs will stop you running a good 10 miler.
This is my actual build up in the 2 weeks that led to my 10 mile PB. As you can see the best preparation for that distance involves keeping busy and involving a fair bit of regular speed in the mix:

Hi all, I'm going for my last long run tonight before the GNR - just waiting for OH to get in from work so we can run together - well, he'll be running and trying to get me to run faster and I'll be puffing and panting behind him!!
Tonights plan is to do either the full 13.1 miles or 12miles if I can't make the full distance (as the last 3 miles home are quite an incline!), and then a 10K on Wednesday and then 5K on Friday.
Then I'll be spending most of Saturday at the Expo with my sis and then most of Sat night / Sun morning on the loo!!!!!!Good wine needs to breathe, if it stops breathing try mouth to mouth.0 -

Lazy day today and last night. Still nice and sunny up here though. Seem to get this now dont we, sunny around Easter and in September and crap summers. Shouldn't think it'll be as hot come Loch Ness although Sunday Langdale marathon looks like a hot one too.Debt free Nerd number 1122 LBM Jan 2009 Debt @ LBM £40,086.88 (14/01/09)

Steve, thanks for the calculation, tried to work it out, but then realised I had to do something with my seconds as it's 42:59 and not 42.59, so that made the % wrong - back to maths school for me!
Inapickle - actually, I think you'd look more silly in 'posh running gear' as a newbie. I felt totally the same when I joined my gym, and went to my first weight training session. Actually, I reckon they'll be made up you're there as a newbie, full of advise and have more respect 'cos you aren't one of those 'I've bought all the gear - but haven't got a clue' types! Good luck, and go for it! You rock for giving it a go. (Actually, there's a running track not far from me, and I'm now thinking of taking my own advise!)0 -

Okay so it was supposed to be a rest week this week, but it didnt really feel like there was any need so decided to get out and see just how little yesterday's effort(?:p) had actually taken out.
Well it seems that the legs were pretty much unscathed - just been out for a great run, really enjoyed it. Easily a PB for that 10K route and from cold too, straight off the sofa, so delighted with that...:D:D
So that represents the first run of the Blackpool build up - the only way that Blackpool will not be the target is if VLM comes back on to the agenda with a sub 1:15 1/2 marathon before the end of January - a long shot to say the least.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
